If you work UNION, enjoy it now! Your days are limited. The guy next door will do your job for less!

wow - people have been saying that to us for over 100 years...

all the while generation after generation have worked and retired under union benefits.

knighton - it is always easy for a scab like you to throw comments - but you have nothing to bring to the table.

nothing to bring to the table here in our discussion - and nothing to bring to your families table with your slave wage checks and being gone weeks on end.

Well the way I see it , is that everyone is working for the same thing.
It all can be gone in an instant for anyone. Some like unions and some don't, But we all drive a truck, and the boss still pulls our strings. so nobody is a scab!
So don't think for a moment that the union will not make a deal with the co's to save themselves and sell the workers out .(utilityworker)

That has happen for years in the North East with the Grocery Haulers.

I have seen a bunch of Grocery warehouses go to a non-union haulers before..

Lot of that was going on in the early 90's

Unfortunately there are those childish individuals out there that misunderstand what concepts are appropriate.

I do not agree with you on this one - I respect your opinion - but by definition anyone enjoying a wage set by the blood sweat and tears of another is a scab.

the sloppy sweat pant wearing trucker that has not had a bath in a week and who is just "schlepping" thru life all the while making just below union wage is a scab.

Professionalism can not be worn or learned in most cases - too many drivers complain and whine about what union drivers make - but look at them!!!

Many times these same scabs are nothing but a hoard of trashy - unbathed morons who talk smack on the CB and drive like idiots.

HE is the scab...

HE is enjoying a higher paying wage than he probably deserves - just because people like myself are willing to dedicate and fight for the rights of our own interest.

HE is the driver that brings down the image of ALL drivers - and HE is the type of driver who would not raise a finger to ensure our prosperity.

a scab is any trucker who "complains" about issues but lets someone else fight the battles - all the while collecting the rewards on payday.

without the effort and work of unions most truckers would be making half (or less) than they do now.

our gains trickle down into the non union sectors - but to sit back and laugh at us - and say our days are numbered - and be nasty in every post and forecast our doom is much like some idiot on Al Jazeera poking fun at America and saying we are going to fall etc. etc.

If you choose to not be a union member (work for a unionized company) that is fine - but do not complain about your situation...

he was talking about a pipeline job - not a truck driving job.

a lot of construction division guys get paid 5 hours nightly.

freight teamsters get paid 10 hours sleep after their 3rd rest away from home (and hourly until they get home).

(nutshell)
