this is the primary local in jacksonville -

ABF Freight Systems
Allied Systems
Alsco
Aramark
Crowley Liner Services
D-Graphics, Inc.
Gate Gourmet / Gate Safe
H & M Warehouse
International Paper
NADEP Public Employees

Pat Salmon
Penske Truck Leasing
Praxair
Progressive Personnel
Reichhold Chemicals
Roadway Express
Trumbull Asphalt
United Parcel Service
YellowFreight Systems

all of these companies are represented and covered by local 512.

contact tis local for detail on what is going on in Jacksonville...

I just talked to local 512 and was told that you need three (3) years of experance for any of the companys that they deal with the hiring of truck drivers and I told them that I was new to driving and then was told that none of the companys were hiring. So it seams like your going to just have to wait for the teamsters. I have been in unions for the last 23 years last one was the steel workers local 775 , but I never heard of any union putting a time limit on your experance to be able to join.I thought that the teamsters were started for the protection of truck drivers. So for me I'll just have to wing it. No union that has those kind's of restrictions are for me thanks but no thanks. If I am wrong please let me know I may have misunderstood what she said. I am for unions though.

I drove about 119,000 miles.

I grossed $86,743.22.

not a bad year for me and my fellow union brothers and sisters out there...

there are options guys many many options - and the long haul companies want you to think THEY are where all the money is.. and that THEY have the best choices...

there are options.....
Where do you live and where are these job's at ???

I dont think its the union that puts a restriction on experience its probably the company. I dont know about down there but here ABF will take new drivers. I would go straight to the company for hiring info instead of the local there.

I agree with rockee. I approached the Terminal Manager of the company I had selected to work for. The company happened to be a Teamster company. I started on the dock, and got my CDL then went driving for them. Best thing I ever did.

we are hiring in many locations (not all) for local work -

day cab home every night stuff.

pay is 50-75K a year - etc etc

other union companies are also getting ready to hire after this "change of ops " goes into effect in a few weeks.

if interested put your application in now.
