Arrived yard to reload tanker at 9:00. Left yard at 11:30 am. Arrived customer at 12:15 pm. Left customer at 1:00 pm. Arrived tanker washout company at 2:00 pm. Left at 4:00 pm.
Ariived yard at 4:30 pm and dropped trailer. Did post trip and took my 45 minutes in breaks. Clocked out at 5:30 pm.

Total hours - 12 1/2
Total pay - $348.69

Will update as soon as I can.

Drive safe.

Personally I think your a Company or Union Man trying to recruit by posting how much money you make daily, thinking it will entice and it probably does people to PM you to find out where you work and get a job there. Of course $300 a day 5 days a week is not much if you live in LA or NY. Now if they could make that in other parts of the country it would be nice. Plus take out the 5-10% you have to DONATE to the Union and it all gets chipped away slowly, plus you need to save money for when the Union goes on that ever so close 6 month strike. Yeah I've seen Unions destroy people dreams more then once. That is except for the Union Bosses, I have one that lives down the street from me on the beach and he really sems to like it and oh yeah he's retired and buys a new car just about every week. And yes he looks like he worked for the Sapranos before.
But to be honest with you, I really don't care either way it just fun busting someones family jewels.

Well Vulcan, where do I begin? I am not here to recruit anyone for anything. Just trying to point out to others that there are better oppertunities for them than being away from the family so long and not have much to show for as posted by so many people here. You are correct when you say that $300.00 a day is not a lot but it is a lot better than anything I have seen on here and more than my supervisors make. Still, it has paid for our home, bought a few new cars and trucks, put kids in private school, allowed us to have some toys and paid for our vacation to Hawaii last month. Not to shabby. Now I do not know where you come up with the 5-10% DONATION? I checked my W-2. I made $78,432.24 last year. I pay $61.00 a month for Union dues. That comes to $732.00 for the year. That equates to less than 1% of my gross. Also, those DONATIONS helped us achieve the benefits that we have. How much do you pay for health care? I am including medical, dental, vision and prescription for the ENTIRE family? While you think about that, I will tell you that I pay nothing for my family except $5.00 for a doctors visit. and god forbid, $50.00 for the emergency room. How much do you have to contribute to your retirement? While you think about that, I contribute nothing. The company pays $3.78 for all of the hours that I work. Example: 55 hours per week equals $270.90. If I only work 55 hours a week for 52 weeks, that comes out to $14,086.80 per year. Of course, the interest compounds so its ends up being more year after year. How much does eating on the road cost per week? Laundry? Toiletries? Well enough of the benefits for now. As for the Union bosses, I have first hand experience in that. I must say that I agree with you. My wife is a secretary for a different Union. I find it appauling at what some of the Unions get away with. There are many bosses from different Unions in federal court right now for a variety of charges. I hope they get nailed to the cross. I have seen what they get away with as far as the upper echelon at her Union. I find it disgusting. They however, will pay the price.

No Vulcan, I have not received any pm's asking for the company I work for. If I did, I would tell them although the pay is relative to where you live and not all branches are Union. The wife says dinner is ready so need to go eat.

P.S. 12 hours today. $330.96

Drive safely.

I'm getting into trucking because I want to and I'm bored. I made $301,000 over the last 7 years and never worked one day for it.....Yeah that's $301,000.00 for not even an hours work. I know before you write me, I do have a rough life and it is hard on me, maybe the Union will take up donations for me to help with the bills. I do thank God that no union got their claws on my company or I probably wouldn't have gotten those residuals and yeah I will keep on getting them for many years to come.

On a positive note I did ride my motorcycle over 20,000 miles last year, sadly that was down from the year before.

I would never work for a union that allows their reps to use scare tactics to get drivers to vote to become a union shop. And yes I am referring to the teamsters here in California, local 951. Jerks, one was actually on the step of my truck at a red light. I had to call 911, for fear of my own safety, when that light turned green I started driving with that jerk on my truck! They also almost ran into my husbands truck while waving a teamster jacket out a car window on election day. Lets just say he was not impressed with them either. I wont even go into detail as to how many flat tires I had on my personal vehicle while it was parked in the yard.

Without the teamsters help, we had no cost benifits for our entire family, retirement that we could choose to participate in or not, sick days, vacation, time and a half, and bonuses based on the revenue of the truck you ran. Night workers also had a night differential pay. Pretty good for no union taking our money.

and it was all local work.

I agree, remember no links and no recruiting, to be happy with what your doing is GREAT, but please remember the rules.

Vulcan are you even close to making similar wages to this guy? But nobody should forget, that 70k in LA isn't as good as 70K in smaller communities.

The only way a union fails, is if the entire union won't stand up for you when the jobs are getting cut. a fake union isn't a union, and had i made enough money, I'd have sued the union and the company for better pay. Im against the CWA, it's a farce. Unions are necessary for truckers, IMO, you need somebody watching your back when you most likely aren't around to defend yourself.

Has anyone seen better wage rates at a non union shop? And if so, please feel free to pm me. Granted, a union really can't get its drivers more than 60 cents/mile, and it's better off keeping friendly terms with ownership.

Perry, I'm not trying to compare my yearly residuals (RETIREMENT IN LAYMANS TERMS) to his yearly salary I make less then him but I never worked 12 hours a day that was my point. What I don't like is Union guys trying to tell newbies how great their pay is because of the Union. If we want to compare oranges to oranges then when I worked full time 10 years ago I made double for still less hours.

Heres what a Union gets you, 25% of the cost of a union made automobile is bcause of union salaries and benfits. Now before anyone gets all upset I'm all for higher salaries and benefits but I don't have a problem paying my part for benefits, I don't think its the sole responsibility of the company or it's customers to pay for my families healthcare, It's mine.

From what I've seen on these forums and others if a newbie comes on here he can expect to make $650.00 to $800.00 a week his first year and work his way up and do it without a Union controlling his life. He just donesn't need to rub it in their faces, plus he's been driving for 20 years, wonder how much he made in the beggining. I'll bet it wasn't his $27.50 an hour he's getting now.

I ran Cincy to Boston two times a week back in early 80's for an expidetor and made $1,200.00 a week back then of course I never slept and got real good at ruuning two log books. Back when JB and Schneider paid 15-16 cpm
