DAy 2, Long day, warm day. Closed out a store and took everything from them.WOW, what a workout. FIlled the entire trailer today and didnt get to some stops,no more room. Luckily the were supermarkets with mainly bags. we can get them tomorrow or Friday there next pick up. Moved the trailer & backed it,dropped and hooked a trailer. Trainer evaluated my backing. Finishing new hire paper work.

Day 3, Turned in all of the new hire paperwork.
Hot Day today. We had a good workout. Long drivers between stops so the heat wasn't as bad. I didn't drive today, road shotgun. Enjoying the job.

Day 4, took my road test today during morning rush hour traffic. I did just fine The trainer said they want to make sure I can handle, control the truck,Up shift, downshift and backing. The trainer will have me do sight side docking and drive back from Cape Cod on friday. Next week, he's in the jump seat and I drive all week. I like my trainer(ED) he keeps me relaxed and answers any questions I have about local and OTR work. He say's theres no need to rush, work at a steady pace so you dont get hurt or hurt anyone. Traffic is traffic, it is what it is so enjoy the sights. We share the same motto.
WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER. I'll keep you posted.

DAY 5, GOT A GOOD WORKOUT TODAY. The first two stops used up all our gray bins so we dumped into the big totes all day. I drove at the end of the day out of a congested area so he could evaluate my city driving as well as highway driving. Had a great week. Its physical and I need to get into work shape. Hey the trainers happy,The Boss is happy and I'm happy thats all that matters. Going to enjoy the weekend.

Good Day today, Trainer said doing great and to keep an eye on the curbs when turning sometimes to close/rubbing. I noticed I shift much better when I take my time an just drive. Sometimes I try to go to fast and jerk the clutch. Cant wait for tomorrow.

GReat last 2 days, went back to cape cod today. I feel more relaxed and I'm enjoying driving.
I meet a Millis driver today at my new job. His name is charles and he's from michigan. He answered all my questions, he's been there for 2 yrs and loves it. He loves his home time and gets it when he ask for it no problems he said. Its funny that I was going to go to Millis and I run into a Millis driver at my job picking up glass(bottles) that I bring back daily. It was great meeting charles and getting positive info about Millis.

the irony being that it is harder to shift a trucobtail than it is with the resistance of a load ...

good job daddy - hope this works out and gets you in the right direction.

Thanks, The last 2 weeks have been great. I'm learning a lot from my trainer and I like the job. Its physical and dirty but I like it. I talked to the TM from ABF and they're still doing background search.
