as far as shifting - you will learn to not look at your tach - and learn to "listen" to the motor...

you will find the sweet spot and not even realize it when you shift.

hang in there - I will keep my ears open on jobs in your area...

talking to some boston boys and a few in conn. tonight...
Thanks for the update.

Hey big daddy, thats great you're almost done. The road is great cause thats how you learn to really drive, but as far as the driving state test its not that important. Remember to get real good at your maneuvers, cause thats the hardest part of the test by far. The boxes are tighter and its just tougher than at the hall. The road test is just basically a spin around the block of an industrial park. Chris 251

Thanks Chris, fred & rob passed this week.Dave and the new steve will be going soon. Bill goes on monday, jerry on feb5th and I'm trying to go the 6st or 7th. Suppose to graduate week of Feb 14 but I'm out of the park and going on the road. They have 22-28 people starting on monday. I've been living on the blindside because next week there wont be any. 2 straigh backing lines for the new class. Best Of Luck.Rob H 251

Waiting to go on the road.Getting frustrated,A new class of 22-28 is comming monday and might/will a cluster f@#$. I dont want to get lost in the shuffle. It has happened to me once(forgot to add taking me to the park but scheduled a guy who just got his permit that day) I had my Cdl Permit since nov17th ,started school Dec 17th and just went to the park end of last week and 2 times this week.Atleast I got to drive back to the hall. Considering getting additional road time at another trucking school. So when they take me out on the road I can get a good evaluation. Next week I'm going to be more pro active and aggressive proving I know my Pre trip,Air Brakes, manuvers and backing the tractor at the end of the night.

Thanks, I'm just stuck between a rock and a hard place with little room for error.Timing is everything and I just cant afford to get forgotten because they've taken in too many people at once. Thanks

Wow

My husband is a Teamster here in TX for UPS. He is interested in being a truck driver and i noticed your wonderful information about a school of retired Teamsters and the wonderful job you have but did I miss something about the companies? Do you have a name you are able to give us that offers those Teamster benefits to drive? We have looked into a few schools but I don't see any that are Teamster driven. We want to stay Teamsters the who way. Would he be better off talking to the Teamsters 657 here? They are transport and trucking. Thanks for your assistance.

Big D I went to supiorer carrieres looks like a week before you did .They told me the same thing about netts. I just happen to come across your post here today lol. I went to superior because it is like 2 min from my house . My brother in law's cousin is a tech there he is the one who told me to go there .he said they hire newbies I was all excited It was around the corner from my house I could walk there, that was gonna meen no gas money .THEN I GOT MY BUBBLE BUSTED he said only if I went to NETTS uhhh I was so pissed if I only spent 46 hundred more dollars and took 5 more months what could of been.Just thought I would pass that along to you since I have never heard anyone speak of SC before. good luck with school.

Thanks, I going to give Mike Austin a call and see if I cant atleast get an interview.I might even suggest taking a refresher at NETTS and see if that would work for them.If not I will Look local and I have orientation With Anderson Trucking Service on Feb 25th. I could of went through netts but The Teamsters offered better training and we seem to be passing the state exam on the first try and they dont. If I have to wait 1yr then so be it unless ATS works out great for me. In 2yrs my youngest at home will graduate High School and I"d start looking local, union or Superior.
