| How far east do you come? I'm going to the bronx on friday night. Talk about breaking a brother in.LOL Long Island and the Bronx the beginning & end of the week. woo. I cant wait for next week when I start My dedicated line haul and start getting paid on the mile & stops. Its more money for me. |

| I get to the "city" every now and then - I run Carlisle Pa. a LOT and wind up running through boston and back down 95 a few times a month. anyway - glad everything is working out (wish you would have found a Union position - but a decent job is a decent job) had you gone with Swift or JB I would have crapped my pants and screamed!!!

| WOW, 3 weeks at stericycle. @weeks training was great. I was sent out on line hauls to Long Island twice (I broke-down the first time) & the Bronx's. Last week did a pull to the compound, holiday off paid & 4 line haul nights to middletown ct which is my normal route. I need to improve my comfort level pulling doubles and navigating the hills on 84. I had one night where my nerves got the best of me at the end of the night and I slowed it way down. I managed to work through it. I'm getting some static from the bosses to get it done faster. I explained that its my first week, first time pulling doubles, setting up doubles and the yard in middletown is small and congested. I almost walk away but realized it will only get better with experience & time. The usually give 90 probation period for this company but I'm under the gun for 30 days for this line haul. I'm going to stay positive(try) but need to keep an eye open for the next possibility if I'm not improving within there time frame. Does anyone have any suggestions or related experience from when they were a rookie? And how did or do you adjust to going down hill with doubles at the speed limit 65 mph? Is it just a matter of time? |

Read through the 1000's of complaints against hundreds of companies on this board and then wonder why anyone works for non union companies... It is so obvious that the large companies make their money by using up and losing, 100's of new drivers a year, each. The typical scenario is : 1) Lie to a recruit 2) Sign the recruit 3) submit recruit to slave labor as a "trainee" working for $300/wk for 1-2 months... 4) Let recruit quit and replace with another... The alternative is... all the above, recruit leaves and works for another ###### company that takes advantage of him/her, or drives local IF a good job exists, which here in PHX., they do not because there are so many drivers and fewer jobs than drivers... local pay here is as low as $10/hr with the norm FOR EXPERIENCE about $15/hr. Not impressive. IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE I CAN OBTAIN A UNION JOB WITH AN AZ CDL A AND ALL ENDORSEMENTS, PLEASE TELL ME. I am trying to get back in to driving, have my CDL A and medical card, but have not driven in 4 years... I will relocate if needed but need to be able to start training and work with my AZ CDL. I do not have the funds to move, get a license and then apply. I am willing to drive anywhere and relocate eventually anywhere. I would do anything to get into a union drivers job. Please ... any advice? Thank you. |

| Once you find another teamster job you don't have to pay the $500 or so to join back up. If your on withdrawal you give $.50 (50 cents) to unwithdraw and just start paying the monthly dues for that company. |
