There are a lot of people living on less than that. Plus the trucking company supplies you with a place to live.

Do you know how many people are not fortunate enough to have a roof over their heads?

A man making $500 a week and free lodging should be thankful he has a job.

WOW!!!

I have a great idea - lets fill the .20 cpm trucks with homeless people -

and leave the better jobs out there for guys who want a home/family/toys/hobbies and retirement.

Why would they be starving? The only way I could see them being that bad off is if his wife thought she was too good to take a job. All the retail stores are looking for help. They can't even get anyone that will show up to work. If a woman isn't afraid to work she can bring home a couple of hundred a week working retail.

If you figure the husband sends home 2 or 3 hundred a week, and the wife works and makes another 200 take home. Plus they get her employee discount on all kinds of stuff. Really nobody is going to be starving.

The problem is everyone wants to have a car because they are too proud to ride the bus. And everyone wants a suburban house, when they would be just fine in a government subsidized apartment.

Their needs would be taken care of.

New hires start at a lower rate and work their way up. It takes about two years to get to full scale.

If you want to work for .20 per mi go for it . I choose not to.

Oh, forget it. Your obviously making plenty of money and don't care about your fellow drivers out there on the road. Plus your statement about gov't subsidized housing makes me ill. As if the whole country should give up on the American dream of owning their own home, yeah, lets have the government take care of all of us, you included. Then, they will be telling you when you can use your toilet, lights, and when you can eat.

true.. I did not post that info - I will get it together tonight

old progression was 75% at hire in - 80% at 1 year - 90% at 1.5 years and 100% at 2 years....

new proggresion is like 80 at a year 85 at 1.5 90 at 2 and full scale at 3

I made .20 a mile back in 1997 as a student. it was hard to get by then without a family - cant imagine what it would be like now...
