no - they quit doing this in 1990...

every vote counted is a yes or a no - and a vote not cast is void

not usually - because the scabs do not have either the experience or the general skills...

constantly training - and improving ones skills gives you leverage when a company is dangling a sub par contract or offer.

it is very hard to replace a group of guys that know your system - and that have hundreds of millions of cumulative accident free miles.

Carhaul Talks to Resume September 16
9/4/08
Quote:
Negotiations for the 2008-2011 National Master Automobile Transporters Agreement will resume September 16-19.
“We are hopeful we can resolve the issues and submit a contract to our members for their approval, and we go into these talks with the authorization to strike, if necessary,” said Fred Zuckerman, Director of the Teamsters Carhaul Division. “The national committee is serious about getting this done.”
The committee will also address issues still outstanding in the three supplements.

Carhaul Negotiating Committee Reaches Tentative Agreement

9/19/08
Quote:
The Teamsters National Automobile Transporters Industry Negotiating Committee reached a tentative contract agreement today that addresses members’ concerns.
“Based on our member surveys and the feedback we recently received after the first tentative contract was rejected, we have reached a new agreement that addresses our members’ concerns,” said Fred Zuckerman, Director of the Teamsters Carhaul Division. “The tentative agreement maintains a strong wage and benefits package despite the terrible economic conditions facing the auto and carhaul industries.”
“Bargaining was very challenging, but we have resolved both the national contract and all supplements,” Zuckerman said.
More information will be released once leaders of carhaul local unions get the chance to review the agreement.
