OOIDA urges Pennsylvania truckers to speak up now on turnpike lease

OOIDA urges Pennsylvania truckers to speak up now on turnpike lease
6/20/08
Quote:
committee of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives has scheduled a public hearing next week on a bill that would allow the governor to lease the state’s turnpike to private investors – but only invited guests will be allowed to testify.

To make sure that truckers’ concerns are not overlooked, the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association issued a Call to Action on Friday, June 20, encouraging truckers and their families and friends to write and e-mail the committee.

To read the OOIDA Call to Action, which includes the mailing address and e-mail for Committee Chairman Rep. Joseph Markosek, click here. Comments must be received by the committee before the beginning of the two-day hearing, which is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 26.
