Mixer drivers mix concrete not cement. Cement is merely an ingredient.
I drove one today, about a yard. I had to move it for the ice guy and it's an automatic, and it had the options 1 2 3 4 5 D N R Confused, I moved it the bare minimum I had to, so the ice guy could fill our cooler.
Concrete get's ice in the mix to btw, when it's over 90 degrees.... it's always hotter than the ambient temp too btw.

Lol you don't shift it. I chose the D option which I found out later, is what the drivers use.... the ignore all the numbers. I used to drive a truck for Swift.... a mixer is completely different, i know could drive one easily, but I would have to be trained on how to operate it, and get used to feeling like I was driving in the middle of the rd, and the no air conditioning thing would also get hard to get used too. I respect my drivers ALOT.

The only places that I deliver too are concrete yards. We used to have 7 of them that we would run to that were all within a 100 mile radius of the main yard, but, this year we're down to only 3. Guess it's the economy or something!! But, it's cool to find someone else on here who works in the same enviroment, ya know?
