What is wrong with corporations? did they start off as a corporation? No. They started, all of them, started off as small trucking companies. Like Martin out of Mondove (sp), WI. One truck operation that grew and grew and grew. Out of hard work, inginuity and busting ones chops and rump to get the job done. They had a vision, a goal, a dream, and a passion to turn something small...and take it to wherever it might go. You see dreams like that in people, not unions. I don't often, if at all, hear of unions and their vision for the future growth of a one man operation. As a matter of fact, they try to take out the little guys...like the IC's at the ports. Heck, Hoffa Jr himself just threw his support towards Obama...who wants to TAX the corporations! *heres a thought that apparently nobody with a brain larger than a 8th grade drop out has realized....if the corporations are taxed, for DOING business...and are taxed and taxed and taxed even more like he wants, do you honestly think they are going to stay here in this country? Corporations are the American dream and one of my biggest arguments for them is Sam Waltons Wal Mart and Sams Club. He grew Wal Mart to what it is today from a ONE STORE operation. With his business know how, his understanding of economy and his drive to get his CUSTOMERS the lowest cost product, he grew his company into the huge corp that it is today. And the argument we hear from the union guys is that....blah blah blah about low wages (which are actually competitive to the area), benefits (which they provide, albiet not for free), and the lack of American made goods. Well I can bet you a 100 bucks right now that if WM became unionized, the company would tank, their prices would go way up, and there would STILL be a lack of American made goods. You call it grinding, like we are being grinded. We never say how hard we are forced to work. You seem to miss that. YOu need to read closer. We just simply work that hard, period. Lol. No force involved. Work ethic. I actually and this kinky fetish of going home tired. I know when I get my load, when i will be at each of my 7 stops along the way, with in a 5 minute window. No break involved. My break is when I turn off the truck at the end of the day.

| These companies do not need 100,000% profit, even 50% profit would keep them very rich and above water. Wake up, you're already paying high prices for cheap crap, even at Walmart, which has many low prices, more so than any other retail store. Yes, I did mean they want us working harder, giving your way of working, could you work any harder ? Your time is not money ? You'd work longer hours for no pay as they want us to do ? Your 14hrs. is not enough than you are the exception a Workaholic, you live to work, perfect slave for Them, don't make us do the evil that you do, we get no kicks out of it. ![]() Things have changed since the spreading and shrinking of OTR driving, we LIVE in these trucks and mind you they ARE rented by us no matter what, thus we own them for the period we work in them. Most of the top 20 Grinding companies give you a cheap truck, rocks on idle and you cannot change it (thus affecting your sleep), has a bad A/C/heating with a small sleeper, fuses so low you cannot plug in a shaver even, much less an inverter. Those are the rundown conditions these big corporations expect you to live in and NOT complain about. Of course they all started small, but none of them have the brains to run a good company anymore and treat drivers like decent human beings. It doesn't cost them that much AND again it's Greed vs. Need, plus a lot of industrial copycats - "if x & y not paying employees for detention, neither do we". Why don't they follow the good examples from the better companies or the unions ? GREED. We got nothing but a bunch of Iranian/Jewish/Scottish scrooges running USA corps. with little in the brain matter and a ruthlessness that can kill nations. ![]() If you don't understand my words, ignore my posts, simple. |

| I see the big difference here, some people like wearing suits and some people like wearing shorts (like me)... If you want to be a OTR driver and expect to be home every night plus have the truck loaded with a 2500 watt inverter and waterbed, plus pickup and deliver whenever you wake up, without any hold ups at the fuel island when you need fuel, then trucking really isnt for you. Some people get mad standing in line at the super market after 2 minutes and other people can handle standing there 15 minutes without having a rage attack. I guess what I'm saying is if your whining about OTR driving then its just not for you. Union offers local, regional, linehaul and good luck getting on with them. |
