Beer 1 Budweiser Teamsters have new contract

Anheuser-Busch, Teamsters agree on contract

Truckers
The Associated Press
Published: October 8, 2008

ST. LOUIS: Anheuser-Busch Inc. said it has reached a tentative labor agreement covering more than 5,000 Teamsters who work at the company's 12 breweries.
The five-year contract, which has been recommended for ratification by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, is expected to be voted on in November.
The deal includes a renewal of the St. Louis-based company's contractual commitment to keep the dozen facilities open for the span of the contract, if union workers approve the contract during the first round of voting.
Anheuser-Busch, the nation's largest brewer, also agreed to a 15 percent wage increase over the five-year contract.
The agreement, if ratified, will remain in place once the brewer completes its merger with Belgian brewer InBev SA.

I know a few of their yard jockeys in st. louis - they have a pretty sweet gig... not sure about pay details - but their working hours are good (10 hour shifts with 1 hour lunch break and overtime available about every day by choice "not forced").

Once the five year contract is up, they will close some of those facilities. They will use the five years to evaluate how each plant operates and then close the ones that don't measure up.

A-B has always run a tight ship - I do not think any of tir facilities will close -

the need and volume is there - so the production will have to continue.

Don't count on anything anymore. They are no longer owned by a local or us firm.
