YRCW ask Teamsters for "relief"...

[LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link.

This is being mailed out to every YRCW teamster today.

Word on the street is that a suspension of some benefits - or perhaps a temporary cut in pension transfer (company pay in) will be discussed.

I forsee some kinda deal...

But to be honest - as long as YRCW has net cashflow measured in the hundreds of millions - I doubt to many members will be up for it.

that coupled with the way the company waste money on NASCAR sponserships and giving a gazillion dollars to St Judes etc etc...

anyway -

I also heard that Estes drivers took a 3 cpm cut (or will be taking).

Not that I'm against you but it's hard to justify the unions dictating how a company makes it profits and how it will spend those profits.
That's what happened to the construction industry in CA during the last recession and many companies just told the unions to go pound sand.

we are a "closed" shop - so they can not tell us to "go away".

Time will tell

- I will post more when I get it.

and thanks for not posting a bunch of silly crap guys..

some people get VERY sensitive about this sort of thing - and I know that you guys (not being members) would get flamed preety hard for even putting your .02$ in.

I appreciate any and all input as long as it is civil.

thanks

-L

Your locals in the Midwest and the East coast are probably stronger than the locals on the West coast. Quite a few "closed shops" were opened up on the last go around.

Best of luck to you.. I hope the union and the companies can work something out that benefits both sides of the table.

YRCW stock is trading at $2.43. They better do something or they won't be around much longer. Stock down 90% this year.

Just so we are clear, Conservatives want to help those that can’t help themselves. Liberals want to help those that won’t help themselves.
