Moving your existing business, or setting up a new business, via an offshore company offers more benefits than you probably realize. Aside from the opportunities in banking and increased privacy, simply by changing where your business is domiciled, could in fact reduce or possibly eliminate your corporate income taxes altogether. How is this possible?

There are numerous businesses that can benefit from this, but let us start with some of the more obvious. Let us start with a manufacturing or distribution business, especially a type of business that "ships" or delivers it's product via mail, container or otherwise. Many countries, including the Dominican Republic, have special "free-zones" in place to encourage foreign business to "set up shop". Some of the benefits to a company operating out of such a "free-zone" are: Zero corporate income tax for 15 or 20 years, reduced costs for services (such as trash collection & electricity), greatly reduced labor costs (minimum wage of 80 cents per hour), duty free import of raw materials & equipment needed for the business, and duty-free export of finished products. In addition, many countries have very favorable trade agreements with the US & European Union with respect to reduced or even zero import tariffs on goods entering those markets. In fact, based on this alone, if you are currently exporting a product to Europe from the US or Canada, you could possibly reduce or eliminate the duties you pay to the countries you are exporting to, just because your product is now coming out of the Dominican Republic, for example, and not the US. In effect, by simply changing your address, you could possibly save money, and be able to reduce the retail sales price of your product, making it more competitive.

This small excercise in Google shows just the hint of why business moves offshore....who here is willing to work for $.80/hr.? The reasoning that unions drive away business does not hold water. Greed directs their moves. They then bring their product back to the US in hopes we have the wages to purchase.....go fish..

Untill the truckers of this great nation unite, it will never change. This has got to be the hardest thing in the world for truckers to do, but somehow, someway,....we've got to do it.
I am thoroughly convinced that if ALL truck drivers in the great USA would ever strike for an undetermined amount of time, this country would be completely cripled. Think about it. That's alot of power! The President and Congress would be calling for a national emergency. WE HAVE THE POWER folks. Then maybe these trucking companies would finally raise their rates and start compansating the way we should be. But until that happens, the big companies will continue to rape us, take advantage of us, and lie to us just like they are right now.
Now, if we could ever organize such an event....don't you know that every QualComm in America will be buzzing and lighting up with threats of being fired if you participate. And they would probably make these threats a reality! But if we would push the matter thru to the end, they would have NO choice but to rehire us. But for sure this would have to be concerted effort by ALL of us. It would work!
So here is my question to you: How do we go about organizing ourselves. I want to here from all you. Come on....think positive....WE CAN DO IT!

OK..I suppose I can understand your reasoning for fear and opposition...it's just that in this day and age most companies have intact what is known as a "Zero Tolerance Program" which means exactly that. Any and all, NO MATTER HOW SMALL OR SEEMINGLY INSIGNIFICANT, instances of unacceptable behavior would be dealt with disciplinary actions up to and including dismissal. It would be your responsibility to report to management.
I want to clarify that Im not FOR people getting fired. However...Im also not FOR giving people 45 chances over and over again.

Zero Tolerance programs as far as I've seen, usually apply to drug offenses. I think trucking companies expand this further by adding DWI's and such to that list. I haven't really seen this abused that much.

I have felt the harrassment first hand...each of us must decide if our desire to be treated fairly in this world is worth dealing with the issues.

I applaud you Ziggy for showing backbone...
I understand this, but I also feel that you don't have to organize to be treated fairly either.

uh...what? Now you want the companies to raise their rates? Why can't they compete with each other to earn business? If a company can do it for less, why shouldn't they have that chance to earn that business?

This doesn't even make any sense. Its like last year when there were small dabs of crowds of owner ops here and there trying to organize strikes when the fuel prices were high. That is...let me clarify here, the people who were organizing were the VERY SAME PEOPLE who were unable to run their business at those high prices.
However, the Independant Owner Operators who had planned how to run on high fuel prices and actually knew how to run thier business...not only did they keep on driving, they thrived because there was less trucks on the road! Less trucks equal more money in the pocket for the owner op who had less competition! I don't know how many times I heard drivers say that last year was their best year ever.
But here you are...wanting everyone to strike. If everyone striked last year, the ones who couldn't run their business couldn't fail. The ones who could, couldn't succeed.
Sorry buddy, if you forget to bring your car to the car race...why should everyone wait for you to go home and get it?
People need to be allowed to fall flat on their face and fail.

Actually there is a definate place, in the workplace, for the Zero Tolerance Policy...though it is prevalent in the school systems more so than work.

I like the way you think and wouldn't it be a Utopia if you were correct in your thinking. That's not to say there are not employers that do treat their employees fairly...but as history has shown...there is usually a union, or union set guideline that
set the standard they follow.

Rates are set by the ability of people to pay for such service versus the ability of a company to operate within a profit band. A company could certainly raise their rates...to what avail if no one seeks their service due to that cost. Big companies, small companies...it doesn't matter...they compete for business.

You can't "rape" the willing. If you find yourself employed by a company that takes advantage of drivers then put on your big boy panties and find one you can live with. You should be somewhat flexible and real in your expectations...are you a new driver looking for a start, or a veteran with no issues..

I read ,as a signature, that finding a company you can live with is like a marriage...find one that allows a certain harmony and one you can wake to each day.

You know...there's really no amount of money, or benefits that can make me feel 100% good about being away from family as much as I am. But I realize there are people that depend upon my ability to create an income..so off to work I go...doodah...doodah..

Of coarse the socialists always believe that the money the company makes is not their money to do with as they please but the workers money stolen from then despite their sweat. Profit is called greed unless it is the Union bosses private accounts being filled. And a company has no right to move to where the cost is cheapest to do business at the direction of their shareholders and investors.

The Union of the Socialists believes that a company should be in business to support the workforce utopia. Any profit that does not support this is considered greed and through political payoffs should be regulated by the State.

People this notion of working for and being subjugated by the state has been tried already and failed. So why do people who through their continued work in Unions support such a failed ideology?

They (the Union organizers) go into a good company try to take it over and suck it dry and then call in political favors to limit the competition and prop up their fee structure. And in the end when the company folds they are dependant on the government. That is the end game people. Working for the good of the state. Not the individual, thats greed and we can't have any of that.

Most union workers put on the blinders when it comes to the real goals of their handlers. As long as they can get more and call others scabs they don't care. They do however care when the Union throws them to the curb when the cost outweighs the benefit of brotherhood.

All I can say about this post is.....WOW!.....made me burp my burrito!

Where is the Union of the Socialists? Could you possibly post a link to their doctorate you refer to. I am a union worker presently...you state I have a handler...why don't I know my handler and you do? I have never seen a union organizer "go into a good company try to take it over and suck it dry and then call in political favors to limit the competition and prop up their fee structure." The organizers I have known hold information meetings, off company property, to inform workers of union options....hold debates...answer questions...request card drives...and such. Never witnessed any sucking, perhaps you need to check who is holding the meetings you seem to be attending...or do you draw your script from hearsay?

Not all workers are pro union...I do accept your indifference...as you should mine. I represent less than 10% of the workforce...yet you seem so threatened....

Take a breath brother....knowledge equalls power...you live in a 90% union free enviroment...enjoy your life!

On February 4, 2009, 4,000 workers rallied on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC and began to deliver the cards, petitions and signatures of one and a half million Americans demanding the passage of the Employee Free Choice Act.

On a bitterly cold day, led by the AFL-CIO and the United Steelworkers and its President Leo Gerard, workers came to tell the Congress what hell corporations put us through when we try to organize unions, how workers are fired, intimidated and retaliated against when they try to get a voice at work, and that our economy cannot be fixed until we pass the Employee Free Choice Act and workers can freely form unions and bargain for better lives for their families, bargain for a way out of poverty and for a stronger, deeper, larger middle class.

Let's at least be even handed here.

Quote:
Union Official: EFCA is “Payback” Folks, you can’t make this stuff up. Gerald McEntee told The Washington Times that EFCA was “payback” for labor’s contributions to Obama:
Mr. McEntee said labor must guard against overreaching and should avoid warring with other Democratic-leaning groups - “to turn the other cheek on this and be more interested in the bigger picture,” he said - but he also said unions paid their dues by supporting Democrats and President-elect Barack Obama in this year’s election.
He said they expect that effort to be rewarded with action.
“The payback would be Employee Free Choice Act - that would be a vehicle to strengthen and build the American labor movement and the middle class,” he said.

Quote:
Can you imagine if a corporate “special interest” came out and said they expected “payback” for their campaign contributions?! There’d be investigations. There’d be calls for resignations. Heck, there’d probably be indictments. But when the unions do it, no one seems to bat an eye.

When have unions backed other than Democrats? When have the Republicans ever been pro union? Paybacks are not soley a union sought for favor...now are they? Every voter expects something for their vote...whether it be in the form of a tax break or other incentive.

Oh no....the secret's out!
