funny how many people on here complain about how they are treated by company's, and the government and how unions suck as long as the higher ups can keep everybody bickering amongst each other the longer they can treat you like slaves taking illegal deductions and chargebacks cutting pay etc

there is strength in numbers! the company's do it with " [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. " drivers could do the same

I'm certainly not complaining, the transportation industry has been good to me and my family by providing a good living and benefits to us. I know that there are many others who can't say that though. So, I guess I was one of the lucky ones.
I just bought a truck and want to know from people on the forum why, in their opinion, I should join.

Can company drivers join OOIDA or is it just for O/O and Independants? I would definitely like to join but I'm a company driver right now.

OOIDA allows all drivers and represents all Truck drivers in Washington D.C.

Correct. As a matter of fact, OOIDA has pressed a lawsuit against the Minnesota State police for using a "fatigue" checklist to put drivers out of service. This is an issue that affect all who drive and are subject to HOS regs.

Yet.....ask OOIDA to help you (as an individual trucker) because you got screwed by one of their advertisers and you will find yourself on your own.
Ask them for help to find a Lawyer (for a Private Action) and they will use the information you give them for their own purpose and not help you at all.
Ask them for help to remove false information from your DAC and they will tell you "good luck".
I wasted 10 years of "dues" and support before I learned.

Some guys just cant see the big picture. There is just no way for any organization to help every single trucker out there with a complaint or hurt feelings. Instead they focus their work on issues that affect entire groups of people.
