I think this was somewhere in Canada and what happened was the meatcutters wanted a Union, voted for a Union to come represent them and it did.

However, a few months later the suits at Wal Mart decided to do away with the meat department at that Wal-Mart. I am thinking this was about three years ago.

They did away with the meat cutting dept system wide. Everything comes from IBP pre packaged. You buy whats on the counter!

They did away with our meat cutters about 6 or 7 years ago.

Companies dont like unions. You have to make sure that "you have them by the you know what" before you unionize. Make sure that the location is one where the company can not just get up and go. Car factories and steel mills are examples.
