They made 1 bill that quarter, with the help of cash for clunkers.
Last year they lost 14 billion....
They need to lower costs across the board and streamline.
They have more employees than needed, and too much overhead.

Just think what an automaker could make if they weren't saddled with health care costs for all those retirees.

Ford needs to get out from under the UAW.

GM and Chrysler are lost causes.

yeah sign em all up for medicare so ford can make some more money. if the government was at all concerned with ford's operating debt, theyd be stepping in. they tend to do that, quite a bit as of late.

Why stop there?

Think what they could make if they cut all of the benefits to the labor force. After all, they can exist on their own. They are just workers, nothing important.

Approximately $700 bucks off every vehicle, think of the number of additional vehicles they would sell.

And think of the number of workers needed to do it.

You want a job or insurance?

Like I have said. Our health insurance costs need to be controlled.

Like I have said, replacing a bad system with a worse system isn't good for anyone.

Not sure I agree that it could be worse than what we have.

How do we control costs in our daily lives?

We shop around for the best deal.

With insurance of any kind people do not do that.

Imagine what a 10% reducton in price due to shopping around would add up to.

$2.4 trillion annual health care spending, 240 billion or so.

When the people that are putting it together and will be in charge of it are taken into account along with their plans to expand infinitely on it, I can't see how it could be better.
