sex offenders
i just found out i have 142 sex offenders in my town and i dont live in that big of a town how scary is that????? i will never let my babies out of my sight!

My wife and I keep track of this too. There are more than one web site out there to track them. It is scary to think that these people live right down the street.

Yes it is scary that is why us parents should not let these younger kids run the streets like they are 13 or up. I see to many kids running around my neighborhood that look to be 6 years old. I am like I don't care if they was responsible or not, the preditor is not responsible and can take over will power. IT'S JUST SCARRY ANYMORE!

God bless all kids and I hope no harm comes to any of them!

Sadly, those lists are misleading. For the most part, many times those lists includes people convicted of pandering, soliciting and even urinating in public. Hardly the crimes of predators.

Yes, those lists can be misleading. It's good to be aware of course, but try to look at the offense too.
I went to school with a guy that has to register as a sex offender...his crime was having sex with his 16 yr. old girlfriend after he turned 18 yrs old. She turned 17 three months after he turned 18 but her parents raised a stink over it and ruined his life. I am not afraid of someone like that living near me. I'm worried about the 40 something year old man that lives down the road from me who had sex with two 11 yr old boys.

it says on there what they did wrong and most of them are in their 30 - 40 years old alot of them are for rape of a minor or something else like that

I agree, but to say that "I live in a town with 14,000 sex offenders" amounts to (IMNSHO) fear-baiting, with-out knowing exactly what they were charged with. I had a friend (who is now dead) that had to "register" because he was arrested for urinating in public during a drunken black-out.
