Nope, I ain't. I won't bother to name them, doesn't do any good. While I agree it's a BS deal. They view it as totally avoidable. You were driving to fast for conditions. Which we all know is a BS charge when it comes to animals that come running out of the woods, and onto the road. That said, the majority (all others) of companies I have worked for TOLD me flat out...run em down, don't try to miss them. Easier to replace a bumper, than a whole truck. And, that's my view on it today.

Is this the ladies room? I took a wrong turn by.. accident. Anyway, if you're in an area where you know there are animals, slow down a little and look ahead. Now.... what usually works at nightime is this.... If you see an animal up ahead on the side of the road, slow down a little and put your turn signal on in relation to which side of the road the animal is on. If it's on the right side, use your right turn signal and vice versa. I think the flashing light from the signal gets their attention and they usually stay on the side they're on. This isn't foolproof but it does work. If you see a pack of animals like deer up ahead in the middle of the road.... you pretty much have to come to a crawl until they get the idea . Use extreme caution at night on narrow two lane roads with little or no shoulder. Especially in elk country. Those suckers are huge..bigger than your car . Slow down because it's just not worth getting into a serious accident with a big animal. You do not want an elk sitting in your lap in the middle of the night or anytime for that matter. Be safe and slow down.

One of my brothers, living in AR his entire adult life, swears that if you 'beep-beep-beep-beep' (instead of beeeeeeeeeping) on your horn, they'll run off.

You can try to avoid driving on two lane roads where there is heavy deer migration. Most of them will be moving around from early dusk to early sunrise. But there's really no avoiding them. It can be broad daylight, and one might run right out of a ditch, and nail ya right in the side, or in your driver axles, anywhere..You don't necessarily have to hit them. Just be aware and alert, go slow when they're migrating, and hope you don't come across any that want to commit suicide.
