Trillble El had the .25-caliber pistol inside headquarters for about 12 hours before telling police about it. She did not threaten anyone with the gun, said Deputy Commissioner Stuart Bedics.
El, 23, of Philadelphia, was being questioned in a holding cell when she told her interviewer about the weapon.
Bedics, who announced the suspensions Wednesday, said the officers were being disciplined for a "lack of judgment."
El was not made to walk through a metal detector, nor was she thoroughly searched by a female officer when she was brought to the station Oct. 26, Bedics said. She also was permitted to use a public restroom while a City Hall employee was inside, a violation of department policy.
El is charged with fatally shooting a 37-year-old city man in the head.

Ya'll talk about good stuff in here in the Ladies Room. I was gettin' bored when I saw this thread posted. I feel like an intruder comming in here but I promise I'm not peeking. Just wanted to say, when I was a cop, I saw a women shoot at another officer with a gun inside the station, but she was tackled from behind and disarmed. I don't know how she wasn't shot. But same thing..... another officer didn't frisk her or have her frisked by a female. Sorry but my solution was to put her in front of the car, on camera, explain what I was doing and shove my hand any place I believed needed to be checked. If I was really feeling dicreet, I would run the tip of my baton or ball point pen between the ##### and the legs to see it there was an object there. I found a gun and drugs once. Sometimes you gotta be careful when dealing with some women. There are criminal girls that are just as mean as the boys. My life is not worth a little modesty. She ain't gettin' in my car to shoot me in the back of the head, so I'm checking her out.

You are more than welcome here.. sometimes male insight can be helpful. You just can't make snide nasty remarks about a PMS/menopausal mood!

I will not make snide remarks about PMS / Menopausal mood. Last time I did that, my wife hurt me. She went through early menopause in her early 40's. I dealt with the Hot Flashes, Mood Swings, etc. But at least now, she doesn't jump on her menstral cycle and run my *ss over!!!

Yeah, those menstral cycles are mean.. you were aware they they have 6" sharpened spikes on the tires, weren't you?

When I worked in the state of Texas prison system (region 1, Ferguson Unit, Midway,TX) the unit I worked in was all men. I had absolutely NO PROBLEMS frisking them and doing patdowns properly and strip searches (which in reality were usually done by my male counterparts but not always). My life is way to valuable to me to not do my job right.

You would be amazed at the ingenuity and what can be smuggled and where.
