Kirstie Alley to Start Own Weight-Loss Brand

CHICAGO — Move over Jenny Craig, there is going to be a new name in the weight-loss business - Kirstie Alley.

The former 'Cheers' star told People magazine in a statement she will be developing her own weight-loss brand expected to launch in 2009.

Alley, who reportedly lost and kept off 75 pounds during her time as the Jenny Craig spokesmodel, stepped down from her role with the company last week.
"I want to create something new that will help millions of people end the seemingly never ending fatty-roller coaster ride," she told People in a statement.
Scott Parker, the vice president of marketing for Jenny Craig, told People the company wishes "her all the best in her future endeavors."

I don't know how I feel about this one. I don't think I would have alot of faith in her products, she seems so....unstable? to me. Sure, she lost alot of weight....but I don't think she has behind her the 'years of success' that I would think would made her product more believable. I'd feel like I was investing in a crap shoot.

I'd buy from Valerie Bertinelli though in a heartbeat before I'd buy something of Kirsties!!!!

I agree with you. She has always given me the willies on those commercials and turned me off big time. I have seen photos of her recently where it looks like she has gained back much of her weight so I don't see how she can come out with a weight loss program now. She's not exactly an example of a shining success at this point.
