"I wouldn't wish this experience upon anyone," Mandi Hamlin said at a news conference. "My experience with TSA was a nightmare I had to endure. No one deserves to be treated this way."
Hamlin, 37, said she was trying to board a flight from Lubbock to Dallas on Feb. 24 when she was scanned by a Transportation Security Administration agent after passing through a larger metal detector without problems.
The female TSA agent used a handheld detector that beeped when it passed in front of Hamlin's chest, the Dallas-area resident said.

She didn't keep the piercings moving so the skin would NOT heal around them? Oi vey. Everyone knows you HAVE to spin the rings or bar a few times a day so that skin DOES NOT heal and adhere to the piercings so they CAN be removed if necessary. If she were to go in for surgery, she would have had to remove them.

Still - the way she was treated was not very nice and why would she have to remove them? Show them to a female officer and off you go. You don't have to remove earrings or rings so what was this about? Sounds like deliberate humiliation to me.

That is so stupid...why in the world would she have to remove a nipple ring....it has no exposive in it.....my goodness what in the world will they come up with next?

I hope the lawsuit works out and she can take the TSA down a notch or two.

Screw her, if I have to give up my lighter, then she can take out her (chest region since the word that rhymes with newb and begins with b and has two o's in it got censored.) rings.

And God forbid I have more than four ounces of shampoo.

While I dont agree with her having to take them out, she could've been smarter about it to begin with. The manufacturers of body jewelry make a surgical grade plastic ring/barbell. She could've put those in to avoid any problems like this. I use those every day to be truthful about it. I couldn't get my tongue to heal when i had it done. Put those in and it healed in 3 days.
