Just a question to the other drivers.

I would like to know if any of you other female truck drivers have ever had to deal with a company telling you, a girl can't do it on her own, of course I have heard this, but all that does to me is make me mad, and make me want to show them all what this woman can do. Also are any of you having trouble finding dates, I get the feeling that guys are intimidated by a woman who can do some of the things they can.

I've never had a company tell me I can't drive! Nor have I had men drivers tell me I can't drive. Being a dispatcher/supervisor now, The drivers and I get along pretty well. They have learned to work with me and I them and respect is both ways.

Iam not looking for a date, as Iam married to a truck driver too.

I have heard from other women that tried to go to TMC that they wouldnt hire them since they are women and cant do the job as good as a man.

As far as the date thing....will thats a different matter. I havent really had any trouble finding a guy since I dont look like a "normal" truck driver. Im always getting compliments for others and most of the time they hold the doors open for me. I cant complain. I have a man for the moment and I love him very much.(even though I know he only likes me)Ill do anything for him and he has proven his self many times by saving me from companies that like to leave me stranded, and ya know how I found him??At the werner motel for my orientation.I was sending some friends of mine off to dallas when he asked where they were going and I replied.Been together ever since. So keep your eyes open cause there are definitely some good ones out there..

I have met lady drivers that could not drive a truck if their life depended on it. I have also met male drivers who were no better.

As far as being intimidated by a lady trucker, if you ever get to Maine, give me a ring, I'll take you out to supper.

I laughed....

Actually there Beckiboo , I chuckled !

Yes , we women are amazing creatures , yes we can do just about everything( wink! wink!) except pregnate a woman........

Several months ago I called a # for a drivers slot.
The feedback was the usual, not sincere or honest .
Now days you get your self-righteous ##### hauled to court when you actually tell someone they will not hire you because of your anatomy .
Thank goodness for the laws in our country.
I happen to drive by this place of employment I had called on several months ago and it is there loss , there loss in general . I can see why they have a high turnover rate. There place of buisness is filthy and disorganized , my gut instinct told me that had I stopped and lifted the hood on one of their rigs , I would have started crying. A truck of that year commands respect, course I may have gotten hired had I spit in my hand and fell back an took my best shot for the jaw as I dropped his and her small minded a**es on the ground, then grabbed my crouch , picked my nose ....ect.... Whats a girl to do.
There are some really great people out there who hire you for your skills and knowledge, so keep looking !
