Changing after starting trucking.

OK, did anyone elses husband change drastically after becoming a truck driver? Like he was a nice guy who was always respecful and now he talks raunchy and you don't feel comfortable around him. I'm worried about the direction he is headed. It doesn't seem like a good one so far.

tell him to turn that CB off and he'll be much better off. What goes in, comes out.

I am really sorry for that, Pink. Maybe he thinks that is "the way drivers are." Fortunately, they mostly aren't. (those that I know, anyway.)

I would have a talk with him ASAP and nip it in the butt. I know my hubby usually doesn't listen to the CB because he says he can't stand hearing all the fighting and B*tching.

He might just not be happy being a truck driver or he just hasn't gotten in the grove yet. It's a rough life for him and the loved ones left behind until everything starts to settle in and start feeling normal.

Hubby did that for all of a month. Though that was 10 years ago. When we could afford it, got him Sirius. He rarely has the CB on anymore unless it's needed at a shipper/ receiver. Before he had the Sirius, burnt him a boat load of CD's. helped immensely.

My guess he is stressed and not sure if he likes it. Sometimes it's really difficult. You said he's not in the grove. When he figures it out, he should settle down.

I suspect that this whole situation will be OK. It's a darned hard transition and people handle it in different ways.
If he has always been a good man he is, most likely, still a good man. Perhaps a bit confuzzled, but a good man, none the less.

(my experience has been totally in opposition to this, though. Ratchet has changed for the better. He has become aware of his own abilities and now knows that he isn't the idiot that people have been telling him he is, all his life. He is a good man who has gotten better.)

The first two months mine was OTR the very first time, he was a Class "AA+" JERK! He almost ended up being a very DIVORCED man.

Once he settled into his own groove, (which has since become a RUT!) he was fine. It worked itself out. I just flat told him I would not tolerate him treating me with anything other than respect, and would NOT take the BS. When he started giving me **** on the phone, I simply hung up. He got the message quickly enough.

In the beginning my hubby did come home telling some very raunchy jokes, that would make me blush and it takes alot to make me blush. We got him sirius and now the dirty jokes are rare and far between. When I went with, he does alot of his driving at night, some of those truckers were just wrong with what they were saying on the cb. We would have to turn it completly off because it would get so wrong.Thank GOD for sirius!! On the other hand, since he has started driving he has alot of confidence and he is the sexiest man alive in my eyes. He also has a new appreciation for me and all that I do.

last night my b/f's trainer totally insulted me and instead of coming to my defense ( like the nice guy he was before he left ) he laughed in my face at the insensitive hurtful thing his loser trainer said to me...i got a feeling my guy is going to be consumed by trucking and allow it to change him, therefore he will turn me off completely and there will be nothing left of us.
