Okay, that's freakin scary! I do the EXACT same thing! Do you clean in circles too? (Put a load in the washer, a load of dishes in the kitchen sink, go scrub the bathtub, come back do the dishes, go take laundry out of the washer into the dryer, more dishes in the sink, go scrub the toilet and round like that.)

Here's the weird thing...when my husband leaves out at night for his L/H run and I know he'll be back in the morning, I still have a feeling of being lonely in the house. You know, dark out, everyone has someone with them type of feeling. I get some lo-fat chips or popcorn, find a few shows and then get the computer out. Funny that it happens for me even tho my husband isn't OTR like most others on here.

My dad was OTR back when it was 1 24 hour stop at home about once every 2-3 months. I do recall those days and to be honest I didn't really know him well enough to be sad when he left. Sometimes he'd come in late at night and leave the next morning without me ever seeing him.

On one hand I feel sorry for myself for being home alone at night and he sleeps days.

Other hand it gives me more freedom: watch what I want, when I want, go to bed when I feel like it and let the dogs pile up on the chair with me. Two other chairs, 1 big couch and a extra large cushion and I still have up to 7 dachshunds piled up in the same chair with me. Go figure. Sometimes the doberman decides to come in and take over a chair. So far I've managed to NOT be sat upon by her!!

Yes. Then sometimes I'm walking around wondering what it was I was doing. I always end up having tons and tons of things going at once. It's easy to forget what it was you were doing when you got things going like that. I have actually caught myself going to get the Scrubbing Bubbles to clean the tub with and end up grabbing the Windex that I just put back. And then.....my favorite of them all, leaving the washer lid open after you added fabric softner and then wonder where you left the water on at. My sister and I have both ran around the house at times because we heard the water trickling and thought it was a toilet/sink/bathtub overflowing.

The whole bad thing about the cleaning part is.....I will clean it spotless after he leaves and then just let it go besides doing dishes, laundry and floors. So....when he calls and tells me he's coming home I go through a cleaning frenzy again just to make the time pass faster until he gets here. You know, time flies when you stay busy.

We aren't sure whether he will have to hitch a ride to a different terminal to pick it up or what, he has no clue as to where he is going. Everything was so unorganized for us this morning....it just sucked.

I feel comfortable that he will be ok out there. I put Daddy's dog tags on him and told him that I no longer needed him. He teared up and said, "So Daddy's gonna ride this time, huh?" It was very emotional for us both, I'm hoping that they will keep him feeling good about himself and make him think about sticky situations even more. When someone wears Daddy's tags we always say, "I'm taking Daddy," "Daddy's gonna ride," or, "I got Daddy."

I haven't felt like this since he got started. I'm such a nervous wreck and on my emotional roller coaster. I'm seriously thinking about making a rule where he can not stay home for more than 4 days! ......maybe 3, 4 seems to long. I wanna lay down and sleep my emotions off but I have a 23 month olf running around. I wish my sister was here cause we'd veg out on the couch watching a chick flick. I called my Mommy and she laughed at me. LOL Ok I'm rambling now........gonna shut up and go to the joke section.

Sorry about rambling but thanks for letting me get it out. Hopefully he will call in a few and let me know whats up.
Hey, I know im new at this but I totally understand and am 100 % in the same place as you. Thats why I came to this site, was to find other women ( or men ) in the same situation, it helps to have people just listen and respond to our hard times.

hey also for samantha,

that is what happened with Steve, ( the unorganized stuff ) and he is such a good guy he would never complain but it was super unorganized with him to at first. He waited in Chatanooga to test out after his training and they had a really slummy hotel for them and he was always worried about his stuff getting stolen, and then after 3 days of this, ( no food or any one to tell him where to go or what to do and we are pretty broke cause he just got hired ) he finaly was told oh you need to go home and then we will find you a truck and a team mate. So they sent him on a Grayhound bus from Chatanooga to Salem!!!!! seriously 4 days on a bus!! 15 tranfers and my expensive nice ralph lauren comforter GONE... i was shocked that it was so disorganized. I went and got a paper to look for a new job for him. But he asked me to give it a few months he doesnt want to jump from company to company..

Anyway im rambleling now, but he had some sleepless nights about how the team mate thing works and guess what? he was teammed with a guy the same age and they are TOTAL BFFs now lol. anyway keep your head up, and i dont feel so alone now knowing you have babies the same age.

wow that is SOOO awsome, i love that show the twister sisters!! have you seen that? that would be my dream vacation! My only claim to fame is that I was watching a Forest service site ( i was a fire fighter for the forest service before i had kids ) as i left work late one night and i saw this giant huricaine.. i called EVERYONE i KNEW and told them to watch the news and that this was the bigest storm ever, i stayed up all night and watched the national weather service reports we get for our fire situation reports, and some of my friends were mad i woke them up at midnight and my brother hung up on me.. i was trying to get everyone in to this, i could not believe how big that storm was ...and it was Katrina!

so i think that is so cool that you do that!! where do you get the radars from? a web site? I would love to see them to. I was a little worried about steve going to texas last month when that last hurricaine hit. And he is headed to texas today..let me know what it looks like!

Newtruckerswife - You are more of a woman than I. Forest service ff? I'd rather be in the middle of a building with flames than fight a forest fire.....especially in summer. I too used to be a ff, I think I just had a bad experience with my first brush fire. Hot summer day, I coulda swore it was at least 130 degrees outside lol, and we were having to "rake" on a hill that seemed like it was straight up.

We are for the most part very organized but since he was waiting on a truck, we didn't figure he would leave until Thursday, well today, or so. Any other time his stuff woulda been packed and ready but not this time. LOL I learned my lesson on that one. From now on, they will come out of the truck and go right back in.

He's stuck in Charlotte, NC now. I feel so bad for him. He got him a 2007 Volvo that's really nice, or so he says. The only thing.....the former driver of that truck just about tore out 5th gear sooooo now it's in the shop and he's in a motel room. It's kind of good though, I had a sleepless night the night before because he was nervous, his first solo, and had confused himself with the directions. I told him, he got his first solo run outta the way and after that night we both needed a break and when his truck is fixed (I think they gotta put a new tranny in it) he will be ready. Anyways, he's bummed and really needs a hug. I'm already settled back down into my routine though. LOL

On a good note, he said it only took him 2 tries to get backed in. (((So so proud))) ....and he recognized his exhaustion point. He coulda drove more hours as he had the hours but turned the trip down because he was tired, he was 4 hours from being up for 24 hours.

WeatherLady - I have a strange obsession with the weather also. I love to track hurricanes.....can't wait to see if that big spot behind Ike will become a tropical depression. I love to watch home videos of storms. I want, at least once, to ride with some tornado chasers out in the Great Plains just so I can see an actual funnel. Could you imagine the adrenaline rush? I just hate when it storms here as I know the destruction. And of course, it's sad to see anyone lose their homes and lives due to weather, so I do hate that part of it.

Okies, imma shuup now. I've rambled on, yet, again. Sorry Ladies.
