I've checked with the Kansas State Labor Board and the National Labor Board and neither will help. They will help everyone else, but they dont cover independant operators. I have no idea if he belong OIDA or whatever it is, because he cant get any paycheck receipts to see whats going out. I've also checked out attorney online and they only want to accidents, no one deals with this kind of thing. The only other place I can think of is the IRS. But that really scares me. I've heard so many bad things about dealing with them.

I think there is a tip line. Call it and let them know that this company is working people, getting the money and then not paying it out but sending in 1099's on the IC's. Maybe you can do it without giving your name?

I hear you about the lawyers. It's all in the papers about big settlements and make it sound like they will do anything for anyone but they cover only cases that they think they can win and hang everyone else out to dry.

My hubby's been gone for four days now. I talk to him on the phone every day, but it's not the same. On his way to Tennessee, I got to meet him at a nearby Waffle House for breakfast, which was wonderful, but it just wasn't the same, I still had to say bye to him. It was rough. I wanted to bring him home. I tell you what, distance does make this heart grow fonder. We've been married for fourteen years, and it never gets easy seeing him go.

Missing my man everyday ... he has been gone 6 days now an it seems like forever till he is home again (Thanksgiving) ... we talk on the phone several times a day ... and at least a couple of hours at night ... it is not the same ... but that's is close as I can get for now ...distance does make the heart grow founder ... and what we have is very special ... I can not picture my life any other way right now ... and I have no clue how I made it through in the past ... so for now I will be counting the days down til I see his wonderful eyes ... and can not wait to give him a big ol hug and kiss ... drive safely sweetie

Today was my hubby's first day OTR. Wow. I miss him, but I am still trying to get the house cleaned! He kept me pretty busy with directions too. I just feel bad HE'S out there all by himself. At least I am here with our son, and the animals and all the familiar "stuff". I have read what alot of you ladies are going through, and I can only hope and pray that mine won't be gone as much. God bless all of you, and obviously there are a whole bunch of us in the same boat. Nice to have a shoulder to cry on when I'll need it.
