Its alot harder than I imagined it would be. After being together 31 years, only seperated a week at a time, it got unbearable yesterday. All I could do was cry. I try to keep busy. But I cant do everything. I especially have been having trouble eating while hes gone. I eat but only when I have to. It just doesnt feel right cooking for only me. But Im doing a little better today. I guess I just needed a good cry. I never realized what seperation anxiety was, do now. Its just going to take time. I cant leave with him, I have to many responsibilities here, animals, garden, mother & father I help with their needs. He told me he will be home Friday for the weekend, I cant wait. I bought everything for our Anniversery dinner, will make it Friday. Our Anniversery was August 13th/31 years. I finally figured out on a calendar, Friday he will have been gone for a total of 45 days. Feels like 6 months! They sent him to Pearl, MS with a load for this evening, just outside of Jackson,MS. After that I dont know. They are trying to keep him south, so its closer to TN and home.

I know how you feel, but I promise you it does get easier. It really does. But it takes time. My husband has only been out there a little over 8 months and we have adjusted really well. But in the beginning it was hard. Nobody in the house wanted to eat for weeks. Everything was just so weird. But as time moves on you find yourself dealing with things really well. We miss him alot, but we know he's doing what he loves and he is doing for us. We will celebrate our 22nd anniversary Sept. 13th. Hang in there hun. We are here if you need to talk.

I am pretty sure we all have days that we sit down and have a good cry, We are selling our house right now, I am trying to deal with Immigration (Australian Permanent resident) I didn't file a form on the date it was supposed to be filed, have had both the girls in heat (Dogs) and trying to keep Bugsey away from them is impossible!! So my Sooky day was today . I can't wait to get back out on the road, its a lot less stress out there lol.

Keep ya chin up.

Well, my man was just home for a few days, now OTR again, won't be home until February, chances are I won't see him before then, the distances are just too big right now. He's far far away, and I can't ride with him, except maybe for a short while during school vacation, if i can get a flight to go meet him.
Does this really get any easier? I know the military kinda get used to it, but I really really struggle. Watching him leave today, I even wonder if I will forget what he looks like by the time I next see him. There's Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years to get thru before we can next be together. This is just TOO difficult sometimes. I've cried so much I have a crappy headache now, I really undersatnd what Eagle One said about seperation anxiety, its just sooooooooo difficult.......

I'm new to the ranks of the trucking world. My hubby has recently started with Swift and was gone the 1st time for 3 weeks and left a week ago for another 3-4 weeks. I talk to him several times a day but can't seem to shake the sadness and loneliness of him not being home. Does it ever get easier?

Hi ladies,
I am a new member, My husband is a brand new truckdriver and I have had a heck of an adjustment the last month or so, he came home for a week after training and now he has only been out for a few days but man its hard! we have a 2 year old girl and a baby boy and its just been really hard on all of us. I found this site today and thought it would help. I would love any advice and sometimes its comforting just to know there are others out there in the same boat.. ~Jenni
