Do you mommy your husband?

Do you mommy your husband?

5/2/08
Quote:
Kristen Rounds, 26, admits that she's a little gaga over her man. "I'm like his mommy," the Monterey Park, California, resident says with a laugh about her fiancé, a first-year medical student.
Truckers

Case in point: She picks out his clothes before they go out, styles his hair, makes his lunches (complete with "I love you" notes inside) and takes it upon herself to apply the toothpaste before handing him his toothbrush each night.
And then there's bathing. "When he's in the shower, he calls me in to wash his back," says Rounds, a publicist.
Over-the-top behavior? Rounds says no way. "He loves to be taken care of."
It's a scenario familiar to many relationship experts, who say that first comes love, then comes marriage, and then comes the husband in the baby carriage.
Nurturing gene on overdrive
Women find themselves mothering their husbands because of societal pressures to be the ultimate woman, says Pepper Schwartz, a sociology professor at the University of Washington in Seattle.

No. Definitely, absolutely no way.

IMO, that's a bit weird.

OMG

If we did that to our hubby's, we would be putting them in danger. I mean really, than how would they survive the big open road in the truck all by themselves?

I can hear the phone call now.......

Hunny, how do I start the truck .

I think I'll ask my wife to do those things for me.

Then I'll have to find either a divorce lawyer or a mortician.

I will baby my husband when hes sick or when hes had a rough week but there are definate lines that we dont cross. I mean Im his wife for goodness sake not his mother!! If he wants his mommy he knows where she lives! Fortunatly, becoming a trucker has really made him grow up so this mothering thing hasn't been an issue.

Good grief. If my hubby expected me to baby him, I'd b***h slap him. He's big and ugly enough to do it himself. I don't mind washing his back when we shower together, but then there are ulterior motives to it. I help him do things, and he helps me in return. But we share the responsibilities of our marriage, and raising our child, as adults. I do "take care" of him to an extent if he's really sick, like getting up and getting a drink for him, or if he wants a snack or whatever, and he does the same for me.
