Just needed to vent my worries..

Sorry in advance, because I know I'll sound pathetic, but here goes.

I'm searching for a job. Not as a truck driver, that's what the hubby does. In less than 2 weeks I've mailed 20 resumes, emailed at least that many & just went to my parents' house to fax a small stack that could only be faxed. At least I've found things that sound interesting. In this time I had on company email back that they had chose nor to invlude me, because they had several other resumes with more experience; and one nterview that I drove an hour to get to, they seemed happy with me, but called me and said that even though they were interested in me & loved my resume, they were going to hire someone else. The second one I really wanted, because it was several positions at a dispatch/broker (i'd say who, but not sure if I'm allowed to). I really liked everything I read online about the company to prep for the interview.

Anyways, now I sit here, waiting for the phones to ring, nervous as all get out & nobody calls. I hate rejection and not hearing anything feels the same. When I was in management positions in which I hired people, I called people & let them know their status, our told them while they were there if they weren't what I was looking for. Was I just an abnormal boss?!?! It's driving me crazy.

Once again, sorry, just needed to vent. Thanks.

As someone who does hire people, I always let people know one way or the other either by phone or letter. Sometimes I really like someone but dont have an opening that suits them, I tell them that and that I would like to keep thier app ative, but at this point I dont have anything. I personally like phone calls but there have been a few that just gave me the heebie jeebies and I just sent them a letter.
Good luck on your job search.

Keeping my fingers crossed that somebody hires you soon. Have you checked out any temp agencies in the mean time until something permanent comes along? Keep us updated. I'm not working either but my 3 boys keep me busy.

I so feel for you. I have been through job searches more times than I care to remember, and it is ALWAYS a horrible process. I always hated having to act like I really wanted a job before I even knew much about it. Interviewers would say "Why do you want to work here?" and I couldn't be honest and say "Well at this point the only reason is because you would give me a paycheck." You go in knowing so little and you have to make a jump of faith that it will be a good job. And yes the rejection part is hard on the ego. It's frustrating to get all excited about a job and have them give it to someone else because it naturally hurts to not be chosen. Hang in there and stay tough and above all believe in yourself and what you have to offer. Be confident in that and proud of yourself. It comes across to employers. I hope you find the perfect job for you very soon.

Thanks all. I am currently working, but need to find something else. I clean about 10 local houses and work seasonally at H&R Block. That's the other problem.
I actually make decent money at these. I have a pretty large client base at H&R also. I need a job that during tax time, middle of Nov through end of April, I can work there. I also start my annual update & recertification classes in Sept.

I though about temp agencies, but I've been there before, & I don't want to stop cleaninh houses unles I have something more permanent. I did get a email this morning from a company I sent a resume to yesterday. I t said thanks for the resume, we will be going over them next week. So you never know.

I just really need to find something by the time school starts, so I can be patient. Thanks for thinking about me!
