| Tarps the only elbow strike i'm worried about is the one that hits and does no damage or misses because he/she will be ready for the next one. How do you know though if someone is hiding between ur Tractor and ur trailer? i would think that and under the trailer waiting for you to unlock the cab would be the most common places for someone to hide with malicious intent. |

| An elbow strike can be a particularly devastating karate technique because the elbow is so hard and pointed. It can be used in close with an opponent for a hand strike, often taking the opponent by surprise. The Basic Elbow Strike Step1 Begin in the ready stance, with your guard up. Draw your rear hand into the chamber, fist closed, palm up and just on top of your hip bone. Step2 Move your fist upward until it is just behind your ear, palm facing toward your head, on the same side for an upward elbow strike. This causes your elbow to swing up and forward until it is as high as your chin. Step3 Place your fist next to your ear on the other side of your head for a side elbow strike. This causes your elbow to swing up and across your body. Targets for Elbow Strikes Step1 Punch your opponent's sternum with either an upward or side elbow strike. This will often result in knocking "the wind" out of your opponent, who will be forced to retreat while trying to catch his breath. Step2 Hit your opponent under the chin to snap his head back and possibly break his jaw. This often results in your opponent losing consciousness. Step3 Aim for the side of your opponent's head, the temple or cheek, for another blow that is likely to result in unconsciousness. Step4 Strike the groin if you've been knocked down and your opponent is standing over you. Tips & Warnings

| are there defensive moves if an attacker tries to elbow strike the victim?? |

| Also if you are in a car, see a paper stuck to your back window...DO NOT get out and take it off. Someone could waiting for you to do this. I heard about this a few years ago happening in a FL mall parking lot. Just be aware of your surroundings.

that's good advice but that paper thing is myth i had to snope it. but then again maybe snope is just a big govt conspiracy. lol yea those myths have been circulating forever. if anyone wants the website i'll post it but it's fun to check out. i've heard urban legends about a mass murderer uses the recording of a baby crying to get women to open the door again myth that would have been all over the news but it works for those of us that like to be scared to death. the paper thing in my theorizing started as a practical joke from one friend to another. lol think about it it's perfect. it's something i'd do. it's like yahoo's chain messages saying if you don't pass this on then you will loose your messenger. always bogus. and now watch that i've said this at some point i'll have paper in my back window but not a big deal i have sliding glass in my pick up lol. |

| protecting yourself I think all women need to be aware of their surroundings no matter where they are. Always use common sense and if you think something isn't right, it probably isn't. Be careful in all rest areas and truckstops. Try to never park in the back row, etc. If you are ever attacked, the elbow is a great thing to use. Also, go for the eyes and do the one thing that has been known to scare off many an attacker. SCREAM your lungs out, as loud as you can and for as long as you can. Always remember one thing, that many women have been hurt or killed with the weapon that they thought they were going to use on their attacker. Ladies take care. |

| I have a teenage daughter. I dont allow her to have a "my space" account. But parents let me let you in on something, there is a different one out there, just as bad for young kids. "My yearbook". My daughter was added to her friends page (as a friend) and therefore it created an account for her. Her account had her name from the page of her friend and her birthday, as well as the notes that her friend had put under her contact list, ie birthday, school, email. My daughter is learning disabled and didnt know any better then to give her friend my email address. If not for this I wouldnt have know about this at all. I got email from MEN asking to talk, and hmm she is 13 and they could see her birthday...grrrr

I've heard, if someone hijacks you and tells you to drive, run into another vehicle. It will draw attention to you and the hijacker might even get out and run so he doesn't get caught. Those are things I've heard about that I thought might help someone, but what I would really do is another story. Quote:
but my beau is afraid I'd be one of those people that gets overpowered by an attacker and would have my own gun pointed back at me. ![]()
