Heart Growing old with your spouse

I find it strange but yet understanding as to how we can live with our spouses for so many years and when the time comes for one to leave this earth, the other follows not far behind, in some cases.

Quote:
Some theorize the toll of grief can be too much for those who are already aged and physically fragile. The more spiritually minded believe that the bond between some couples may be so strong that when one soul departs, the other chooses to follow.

“When people are in a relationship for 20, 30, 40, 50 years, they create sort of a co-energetic resonance with each other,” says Lipsenthal, who is the past director of Dr. Dean Ornish’s Preventative Medicine Research Institute in Sausalito, Calif. “A simple analogy is two tuning forks, put next to each other. They create a co-resonant pitch. What happens when two people sleep together for 50 years? What happens when one goes away?”

I can only imagine. I am 25. I have lived with my fiance for about 6 months before I left the US. After loosing my dad last year I cannot imagine what it would be like to loose him too. It would be even so much harder if we had been together longer so I definitely cant imagine if it was after spending a lifetime with him.

I believe this to be true. I know 3 elderly couples that died this way...one go and then the other. Hubby's grand parents died like that and I have always said that his Granny died of a broken heart. It was like she just give up on life once he died.

That's exactly what some do Samantha, I know when my Mom died, we almost lost my Daddy too. They'd been married 54 years and he'd never even dated another woman. It took a campaign planned and carried out by my two brothers and I to keep him active, watch over him and care for him. My sweet husband and my kids were willing to pack up and move home to the family farm so we could take care of my Daddy. It took three years before he finally began to look forward to life and 2 years later he married again. We got to keep him 13 years after my Mama died and I believe it's because we waged a battle to do so. I know he said at his wedding that he couldn't lay down and die because his kids wouldn't let him. How did we know to do it? My Mama left me orders to do so. She made out a plan of what we were to do. I've been married 26+ years and I just can't even imagine life without my Honey.

I knew one couple, that was very dear to me, that she departed this Earth, and he who had been a strong, extremely healthy male, went less than a year later. He was 82, and just went to sleep one night and never woke up. When his son found him the next morning, the family Bible was open to the page with the phrase "whither thou goest, I will go..." The phrase was highlighted.

Truthfully, I'm not sure I would do too well without my hubby. We have known each other for 25 years, and been married almost 18. We've shared so much over the years, I'm not sure there would be much of me here if he passed.

Ive only been married 3 but we have been together 8. If someone were to ask anyone who is close to me and my hubby, What would happen to the other if one of us were to die, they would tell you that the other would too. We are independent in so many ways but dependant on one another soo bad it is unreal. In fact, everyone was afraid of him going truckin. I don't mope around the house, I just don't get out of the house. I can't wait until we get moved and things semi straightened out, Im ready to go out there with him. I miss my Doodlebug-ski.

Smiley 1

I would miss my honey and I wouldn't live without her, who is she?

I live with her every hour of every day
We are NEVER apart
If my honey died I would too, without a doubt
She NEVER talks or even talks back to me
She sometimes slips, but she finds her way back fast
She costs me $0
Even in California, it is not legal to marry my honey...yet
She has five sisters (you don't know it yet? Sheesh!)

LMAO, Oh man, I shouldn't have...but I had to!

I breathe out, he breathes in
and thus another day begins
his smile my joy, my worry his woe
and thus another mile we go
a thought I start becomes the sentence he ends
and thus another conversation spins
hand in hand, minds in tune, hearts entwined, two souls joined
and thus our two have grown to be just one
My fingers laced in his he leads the way
thus we travel on this man, his wife this lucky day.
