Last of the Beavers

The sports teams of the high school I attended were called Beavers. Sadly, the year after I graduated, they changed them to Lords.

This commercial cracked me up too, but i dont know about the rest of you ladies but i know what products are out there i'm usually in that isle all the time for one reason or another, and seeing those commercials during any time irritates me. They don't show "guy" commercials all that much. Personally it's sad when most commercials you see are being sold on strict sex appeal anyways, if that's the case i probably don't want your product (within reason of course) It's rediculous that advertisers are stooping that low to move their product.

I remember the flap over changing Beaver College to Arcadia when it attained university status. As a local, I was kinda fond of the old name...

One of the rival high schools near where I grew up went by the Beavers too. I think they still do.

At least my high school had a decent name . . . the Tunderbirds!

Canada's national animal is the beaver... and they haven't lost their sense of playfulness about it.
