Complaints beaver away at tampon ad

A list released by the Advertising Standards Bureau found the hotly debated Kotex U tampon ad showing a woman going about daily activities with a beaver in tow was the most complained about ad in 2008.

The ad, which received more than 185 complaints, tells its audience, "You only have one of them, so look after it'' and featured the animal which viewers understood to be a reference to female genitalia.

Ummmm....good GOD! I have seen everything now. And here I thought American advertising for such products was going too far. Baack I do not even want to know how you come up with this stuff!

I agree shookup, sometimes I wish certain ads could only be run after 9pm.....nothing like personal hygiene ads in the middle of a show with little kids in the room who are just old enough to be "curious" and start asking questions!!!

I agree that personal hygiene ads should be run only after "family hours". I admit, though, that this ad cracked me up... and I wasn't the least bit offended.
