| My hubby and I are just beginning this adventure. He has been unemployed for about 10 months so he's been home ALOT . He's been gone for 3 days and I'm not sure how I will handle the next 6 weeks. I'm just going to try and be supportive and not fall apart on the phone when he calls. He is so excited to get on the road its something he's always wanted to do. I'm hoping thru this forum I will find support and stories to help me be strong for him. |

This happened to me when my dad was sick, he had been in and out of the hospital for WEEKS when my hubby would come home I was it seemed always at the hospital with my dad (I didnt leave him at all unless my sister could be there) and I would only get maybe 6 hours with him...this went on for 3 months!! Then when I got my dad home and he was getting better hubby was due home in 2 days I was so EXCITED, he came to OUR STATE delivered and then was sent BACK OUT....never even made it the 2 hr. drive to the house, just turned around and LEFT. I cried so hard after he hung up, my sister and her bf were here helping care for dad and they were SHOCKED to see me loose it...LOL, that dont happen often. So I dried my tears, charged my phone and just kept on moving. There is no other choice, pick yourself up and keep going, if you stop the world will just walk right over ya... Yes there are bad days in this business, like the day my dad died and hubby was 700 miles and 2 days from home, or when my nephew was killed in a truck accident and hubby was again 2 days from home BUT, as with all bad things they pass, you adjust and learn to wait for that hug you need so badly for another day. When my hubby got home after the death of my dad, it was 3 hrs. before the funeral. He got cleaned up, we did what had to be done and then that night I just layed in bed beside him and couldnt say a word. He just held me and let me be. I refuse to let anything take me out, for more than a few minutes. I havent had the easiest life but my grandmother always told me "pull yourself up by the boot straps and keep goin, the only other choice is to lay down and die and that aint gonna happen"....LMAO, God I miss her.
