Just goes to show you that itt can be done, but I have my doubts in this case.
You brought up interesting points on this. Back in the day and I mean way back in the day a large family was used to work the land. Gaprincess mentioned this in a post. But since the late seventies the whole idea of a large family started to change. It seemes that you would only see that kind of family in either extreme rural scenarios where the kids helped on the farm, or in extreme poverty scenarios where proper birth control wasn't as easily accessible.
In the 90's here in Wisconsin they changed welfare laws to stop people from having more kids to get more benefits. Previously the benefits increased several hundred dollars a month for EVERY child the mother had. In the 90's they capped the benefits increase at 6. After the sixth kid you got no extra benefits.
It seems to me that this lady should've in no way been on any form of fertility treatments. With six children already, that is one full house.
If she is or isn't married is immaterial at this point. 14 kids is insane.

I also truly believe with the prevalence of abortions
Many children that would have made up a larger family are gone
Sad!!!!!
Gone also are the help patents need as they grow older

I agree with you 100%!

I'm no psychiatrist but it seems to me she must have some sort of mental illness. This just doesn't seem like normal or rationale behavior.

The actual wording is:

Never to do deliberate harm to anyone for anyone else's interest.

They did not do any harm to the patient.

Whether or not they should have done the service or not, they are in business and the insurance did pay for it. This is beyond their control.

Do you sincerely believe that 14 children under the age of 10 is going to be beneficial to her or to any woman?

I can see we disagree on this, but IMO they bore an ethical and moral responsibility to do the right thing. They failed miserably. I wonder if she promised the docs a cut of whatever sponsorship money she gets?

Octuplets mom gets TV, book offers to tell story

Quote:
Suleman plans to carefully review her financial opportunities
Most parents worry about feeding, diapers and love
Not this lady

Quote:

LOS ANGELES – The mother of the world's longest-living octuplets is being deluged with offers for book deals, TV shows and other business proposals, but has not decided what she might do other than care for her children, her newly hired spokeswoman said Monday.
Hundreds of requests have been made since Nadya Suleman gave birth to six boys and two girls a week ago, said Joann Killeen, president of Killeen Furtney Group, a public relations company.
"She's the most sought after mom in the world right now," Killeen said. "Everyone wants to talk to her."
But Suleman, who remained hospitalized with her children Monday at Kaiser Permanente's Bellflower Medical Center, hasn't decided what she'll do next, Killeen said.
Some of the deals and requests for interviews involve offers to pay, said Killeen and her partner, Mike Furtney. They didn't reveal the amounts being offered, but Killeen noted that raising eight babies will be expensive, adding that Suleman plans to carefully review her financial opportunities

Angry Octuplets' Mom Wants $2M From Oprah, Media Deals

Quote:
The mother of octuplets born in California last week is seeking $2 million from media interviews and commercial endorsements to help pay the costs of raising the children, the Times of London reported. Nadya Suleman, 33, plans a career as a television childcare expert. It was learned last week that she already had six children before giving birth to eight more. She now has 14 children younger than 8 years old.

WiseOne's Comments, you have got to be kidding me. I wouldn't pay her 2 cents and wouldn't mind seeing her chops slapped. That woman disgusts me. Darn sure don't even want to see her let alone on all these stupid shows! How damned ridiculous is this?

This lady is a joke! Why in the first place was she taking fertility drugs when she obviously don't need them?

I had no idea that this lady is already on welfare
This is what I would consider child neglect
I feel bad for her other kids, how is she going to pay fair attention to them
You know they took those kids away whose parents named them after Hitler
I would say this is worse
