Now this puzzles me . I know Michelle Obama is behind this . They should have a smart , ugly Michelle doll that talks and says how to make the world as it should be .

For years I've always felt the anatomically incorrect Ken doll should be banned.

See, these are the kind of unnecessary statements which make me question the true feelings of some of the people here. This happend in W. Virginia a state often referred to as being backwards and stupid. The law regarding Barbie just proves that.

To the best of my knowledge Michelle Obama has no connection to that state or the politicians in it. I'm not an expert in US History but last time I checked First Ladys don't make laws. FYI- Feminists have been complaining about Barbie's ludicrous dimensions and sexy outfits for 40 years.

Last time I checked Michelle was making a lot of promises to gays about how "we" are going to make the world . Don't think for a moment she doesn't have strong influence on her husband's decisions .

All first ladies have opinions and some influence on their husbands, just like all wives have some influence on their husbands. I seem to recall conservatives and liberals alike being upset with the high level of influence Nancy Reagan had on Ronald Reagan. Disagreeing with her politics is one thing, calling her ugly when she is obviously not is another. For all I know you prefer short redheads. That doesn't mean tall blondes are ugly, they just aren't your preference. There is a way to state your views without making personal attacks.

FWIW: On the campaign trail Barack Obama angered many gays & lesbians because he and Joe Biden were strongly against gay marriage. They do however favor civil unions which are totally different. He also favors having gay bashing included in hate crime legislation, which makes sense to me.

Although Barack Obama has said that he supports civil unions, he is against gay marriage. In an interview with the Chicago Daily Tribune, Obama said, "I'm a Christian. And so, although I try not to have my religious beliefs dominate or determine my political views on this issue, I do believe that tradition, and my religious beliefs say that marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman."
