| Weirdest Compliment Ever So, I finally had my consultation with my new gynecologist/reproductive endocrinologist on 5/1/09 at 9:30 AM. I like her, she's nice and very thorough. Not only did she answer all my questions; she was kind enough to squeeze me in for a pelvic ultrasound and [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. when she looked at my file and saw how far away I lived. I really appreciated that and told her so. Now I just wait for a call from her office to schedule the surgery. The results were that I do not have one, huge, uterine fibroid as I had originally been told in December 2008. I have 2 uterine fibroids which are the size of very, large gum balls. Think Gobstopper; but a tad bit bigger. More good news, they are not embedded in the wall of my uterus, so she can remove them vaginally and it will be an outpatient procedure. There is a third fibroid but it is embedded in my uterine wall and she does not think it will hamper my ability to get pregnant. ![]() ![]() ![]() Anywho, the doctor who did my pelvic ultrasound and histerosonogram gave me the oddest compliment ever. He said I had "very, nice ovaries." I said thank you, as my mother told me you should always say thank you when you receive a compliment. But I wondered how often he saw ugly ovaries . . . I couldn't help myself, I asked what made them nice. He told me they were a good size and I had plenty of immature, retrievable eggs within each ovary. So I probably won't need to do IVF. |

| That is a wonderful complement because he is basically stating you have healthy reproductive ovaries and conceiving probably will be easier and you will have a much better chance of healthy eggs and future babies. When we get older our ovaries start to look like prunes and not as healthy as they were in our 20's and 30's. Sounds like you have the prefect almond shaped ovaries which is great, congrats. That reminds me when I was preg. with our daughter at first the doctor could not tell if it was a boy or a girl and she tried shaking my tummy and trying to get the baby to move so she could tell if there was anything between the legs and our daughter would not unfold her legs for nothing but the doctor happened to see her little ovaries so that is how we found out it was a girl. It was so cool looking to see an infants little ovaries. I used to work for OUHSC which is Oklahoma University Health Science Center and I worked in the GYN/Oncology department dealing with women of all ages dealing with the sad diagnosis of cancer of reproductive organs and ###### itself. Saw lots of pictures as my surgeons always took pictures of each surgery that I had to put on my computer for him for future teaching of med students. Really some scary stuff , saw some bad ovaries . |
