I gave away all of my clothes that I had hoped to get back into someday. Then I lost 32lbs. My husband laughed at me because I looked like I was a bag lady. With him the only one working, buying new clothes was out of the question. I went from a size 18 to a size 12 in 3 weeks. I went to goodwill and thrift stores and got a few things. I also have gone to yardsales and got clothes. My sons girlfriend cleaned out her clothes and gave them to my daughter, but my daughter is now bigger than me. So I got what she couldn't wear. Hand me downs are nice and cheap.

We should start a new "store"...clothes of all sizes, for those who lose (sometimes gain) weight...second-hand stuff for .25 to $10.00...nothing over $10, that way it is affordable, and when more weight is lost, the clothing can be returned for re-sale, as long as it is still in good condition!

That is such a GREAT idea Judi !!!
All Aspects of it...Like a consignment shop on line.
Weight is an issue with me because I have been a diabetic since I was a child.
I LOVE TO EAT !!!! Food to me is a reason for living LOL
A gain of 5 pounds makes a big difference with my levels of insulin intake.
So I feel like I'm being punished most of the time.
Just a great idea really, can't wait to see it happen.

Hmmm...I'm gonna have to look further into the how/where of this...should I keep it strictly online? And where/how do we warehouse stuff? OR, we could just "trade-off" clothing, with only the costs of S/H for the "buyer"?

This IS quite an interesting, possibly do-able, idea....if we could find a place to store, and someone to handle the day-to-day operations, we could set payments up through pay-pal, maybe...

Hmmmm.... the wheels are a-turnin'..!!

When it's cold and snowy, I go showshoeing. I have a full body snowsuit I wear, with a scarf and hat and warm boots, and once I get going, I get very warm from the exertion (it's harder than you think!) and usually end up shedding the scarf and unzipping the snowsuit. Also, I love the winter landscape, especially when the sun is shining. I bought the snowshoes on clearance in the early spring and they didn't cost me much at all.

I just got rid of all my 'too small' clothes! There's a town wide garage sale and I sold some stuff. Donated the rest. Closet is looking a lil bare but at least I don't have to look at what doesn't fit anymore. I still plan on losing weight and I'll just buy some more when it happens, that'll be the day...

I'm excited!
I just bought some new sweats yesterday and I'm going to change after work, head to a park with a track and walk for an hour and see how far I go. Then I hope to go farther and farther each day and also break through this stupid 9 lb plateu!
Good luck to all you ladies this weekend!

you know what I just read about? An online race!!!

How it would work - for those of you that have time to walk...

Say we do a week long race and really it's whoever walks to the most in that week wins... and they win bragging rights I guess....

Or some people say, the first one to walk 5 miles in a week wins, and then you keep track of how far you walked and you post when you get there first and again you win bragging rights and you lose weight in the process.

For me I'm going to try and keep this up and walk 6 miles starting now ending saturday night

Sunday I'll start a new week and try to walk 21 miles by saturday night!

They prob have a ticker for this kind of thing too but I never got the hang of updating it. I know how to post a ticker to a page but it always seemed like a major hassle to update it every day or every week... If anyone know easy tickers, let me in and I'll prob use it as my sig.

ugh I feel like a failure because I didn't get to do any walking all this weekend.

Friday I was so excited about it but then my boss made me stay late and I was angry and just wanted to go home. Then the bf called cuz he was in the area so I went over to him and he said he had nothing to do till 6pm saturday night we booked a night in the hotel nearby his TA and then we spent all of Saturday together and it really was Wonderful. We had my car but had to stay nearby so we visited local shops and scenic overlooks whenever we passed an exit that had one and it was SO NICE.
Saturday night I spent some time with my fam then Sunday was outlet shopping with friends. Yea I coulda got up at like 6:30am to get a walk in but ... heck no!! Monday was apple picking (I ate horrible!) and again I coulda went before but then again I just couldn't!
I'm just a bucket of excuses!
My friend told me about a gym nearby that's have a $19 a mo deal! I'm going to stop in to see them today and also see how much a trainer would cost. I've been in gyms before and feel I never push myself as hard or leave as sore as when a trainer is pushing me. And at $19 a mo, maybe I could afford it the luxury of a trainer....
Let hope THIS PLAN of my many many weight loss plans, works out...
