Does anyone here keep a food journal? I'm considering that. I'm good with exercising, it's the food I eat that I need to get under control. I really have no idea how many calories I eat in a day. Might be intersting to find out.

I have heard it's good today, keeps you informed of you mindless eating.
I've been doing it for 2 weeks so far. Very hard to keep up with. I keep a little notebook in my purse and try to remember and write out all I've eaten to judge whether is was a good day or bad day. Then try to do better the next day...

I had to keep one for 3 months. I guess I had reminder to write everything down, so I never forgot. I would poke my finger and write down my sugar and then eat, write down everything I ate. I even had to measure everything, so I had to write how much of everything. Then 1 to 2 hours after I ate I had to poke my finger again and write it down. In the end it confused the Dr even more about my sugar. I can eat a salad and it will make my sugar go up, and I can eat a piece of birthday cake and my sugar goes down.

Eat Often To Lose Weight?

Quote:

Jackie Lin lost five pounds after being on the 3-Hour Diet for a week.

"I got to eat whatever I wanted," said Lin, 27. "You can eat sweets, ice cream (and) cakes so you are not going to be deprived."

According to the 3-Hour Diet, "the secret lies in eating the right foods every three hours to stabilize your blood sugar, which controls your appetite." Jorge Cruise, the founder of the diet, said in materials prepared for the media that eating every three hours guarantees a steady loss of two pounds of excess fat per week.

Additionally, proper timing of meals helps increase energy levels and alertness.

Cruise said the latest science shows that this plan "will reduce the stress hormone, cortisol, which is responsible for stubborn belly fat."

The diet’s philosophy also includes eating something sweet -- about 50 calories worth -- every day.

Ideal Weight

the gym told me the same thing. small meals every 3 - 4 hours gets your body used to eating all the time so it doesn't feel the need to hold on to unneccessary fat and that makes it easier to lose weight.
It's hard though, buying and packing snacks to eat throughout the day and I haven't been following it but I understand why it's said to work.
By the way Baack that's a beautiful picture!

I paid the quarter and got on a scale this morning and it came up 136.8lbs. I'm not too impressed because there's been other times I've been down a little then a couple weeks later it goes right back up. Just the little fluctuations every person (especially women) go through. I'd like to see around 135 next time I weigh. We'll see.

I started the food journal thing today. I just got a little memo pad and I write what I ate and calories (estimated where necessary). I keep it right on my dash so it's easy to get to.
