would anyone like to join a diet thread?

I'm a newbie to this site and life style.
My boyfriend (of 1.5 yrs) begins his career as a trucker (with a trainer) next week. He'll be gone a month at least and while the time alone won't be fun, it's got me thinking grandiose ideas of losing weight, toning up and just being a better and better version of myself everytime he comes home!
Is that silly? Impossible?
I would never ask anyone for their weight/stats, main reason being I certainly don't want to put mine up! But if people joined who consciously wanted support and somewhere to keep track of their progres (with me) on this thread then I would like that.
Let's see, if I were to consider this day 1 then I've already gotten off on a bad foot by eating left over chineese for breakfast but I've also drank 2 cups of water so far.
That balances out, right?
* for lunch I had the rest of the chineese (had to get rid of it somehow) but I think making a lunch portion of broccoli w/ garlic sauce, white rice and crispy noodles strech for 2 meals makes it not as bad. Up to 4 cups of water too. I hate the stuff but will try to get 8 cups in because some so and so says it's good to do.

I will. At this point I've lost 41 lbs since Feb 22. I know it's not a great amount for that time span but for me it's a grand achievement.

I find that an amazing acheivement - if only I could be so lucky! have you been following at set plan (like WW) to lose weight or just watching what you eat on your own?

I'll give it a try. Heaven knows I have plenty to lose. Trouble is I'm allergic to food -- whenever I eat, I break out in fat.

Well ok - I don't really have any rules to start. Anyone can join at anytime.
I guess try to post your conscious efforts of trying to lose weight.
I'm not to good at listing every food by ounce and calorie but if that's how you like to diet, feel free to post it here.
Name your goals here if you like. For instance a mini goal of mine would be getting the 8 cups of water in, hopefully if I'm downing that I'm not munching on the double chocolate chip muffins they have here at work (I'm serious).
Post when you've gone down in lbs, I'm sure you'll want to brag once you get rolling.
Post any acheivements, like walking some miles or fitting into a smaller size.
Post any easy excerises for on the road or at your desk, or anywhere in between.
And also, feel free to keep your hands busy in here instead of munching on the double chocolate chip muffins they have here at work.
Did I mention they have double chocolate chip muffins here at work?
Day 1 is sometimes the best because you're full of motivation - so right now I'm saying to the muffin. And I'm on my 6th cup of water.
Dinner time I kinda fell off the wagon. Took the bf to an all you eat ribs place and but I'm a vegetarian so I had the breakfast of french toast, egg sandwich on a roll and homefries. Only ate half of every thing but still it was a lot, with a coke.
Then treated him to ice cream and got a chocolate chip cookie sandwich.
Eh, I'll live with it.

No, I'm not on any plan. I have found in the past that plans or programs cause me to feel deprived. What happened is I changed my life in several ways. One way was to stop putting everyone before my own needs. Now it's only my husband's needs and mine, then grown children and grandchildren.

I also gave myself permission to eat anything I want in any amount as long as I think about it first. I told myself there will be NO more guilt in my life over food nor would I use it to console myself. Food is food; not love, not acceptance, not the answer to problems nor is it a reward or the thing to do instead of telling people to get off my back.

The other thing I did was to finally submit my eating to God. Eating was the one thing I held back from Him and refused to let Him have control of. (as if He didn't notice I was a glutton and looked like Gloria in Madagascar??????? LOL)

Okay, then I went to Swift Driving Academy and worked my rear off out in the heat of Phoenix. LOL But that time at school without 24/7 access to food, the heat, the walking and my beginning to feel successful gave me a drop in weight that encouraged me. My pants got loose. wooohooo.

What I do is try to stay within a calorie range for the day BUT I eat a cookie if I want it and if I feel I need two I have it. What that's done is I don't get cravings. I don't start secretly gorging on a bag of oreos.

I don't weigh every day. I refuse to weigh every day.

I eat a minimum of 6 servings of vegs/fruits a day and all the meat I want. Meat is a biggie with me. I try to limit my sugars and other refined carbs. But if I want the roll I eat it.

With those steps I now eat about a third or fourth of what I use to and rarely eat chocolate or candies which were an intense addiction.

I absolutely think the main two things that have aided me is that I released my eating to God and I gave myself permission to eat anything without guilt.

I'm convinced guilt makes you gain weight.

Oh, my last tip is instead of eating I vent on the political forum. LOL
