| Help -- No Dogs Allowed! I am new to trucking ( just got my cdl permit today) i am considering going with schneider (good training, Operations center close to home, etc) BUT they dont allow dogs on their trucks. I have a 5 year old Maltese and no way am I going to get rid of him. My questions is 1. is there someplace that can keep him while I am OTR that does not cost a fortune ( I dont have any family) 2. If I did take him what are the chances the company would find out and If they did what would happen I have spent a good deal of time considering changing my career to trucking and really dont want to stay where I am. ( at first I did have someone to watch him but they backed out) Any suggestions would be appreciated OTRDOC |

| SNI's tractor's are kind of small, you sure you wanna bring a dog with you. Well I guess you do, the training you can't hide the dog, but the chances of them finding out while OTR is remote, possible, but not likely. Just be careful when you pass through a OC or in the neighborhood of an OC. That's is where you'll find your hardcore SNI employee's. Now keep in mind while a rookie you'll get the worst truck signed to you and your first 6 -12 or so month's it's not unlikely to swap out trucks here and there. And if they find out about the dog they might be calling you back to the OC. When was there I had -30 min to swap trucks in order to drop the load on time. That was a bad weekend.... A dog? It's possible but risky... |

| What is an "OC"?

| OC = Schneider's fancy way of saying terminal. I believe it actually stands for Operations Center
