Unhappy What a Dumb ###!
Cop charged in police dog's hot car death

Chandler police Sgt. Tom Lovejoy was booked into the Maricopa County jail on a misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty after a two-week investigation into the death of a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois named Bandit.
He was released later Wednesday, said Capt. Paul Chagolla, a spokesman for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's investigation showed Bandit was in Lovejoy's patrol car from about 9 a.m. to shortly after 10 p.m. August 11. During that time, the investigation found, the officer ran errands, napped and ate out with his wife. Lovejoy later found the dog dead in the car.

Hard to see how this could happen! Most handlers are closer to their dogs than anybody/anything else!! Becomes a very close bonding/relationship...really sad...

Yuck the smell
IF a regular citizen did this they would be arrested and given at least one felony.
Which is what the cop should have gotten!!!!!!
If a regular citizen even hits a cop dog he will get assault on an officer.
A felony or two.
Remember the guy who was arrested for making faces at the cop dog.

Hope he gets a cell with no A/C and during the whole next Summer too! Bet he wont serve any real time.

I read this earlier today and was absolutely appalled! How could he be so stupid? The amount of training and time spent together between a cop and his dog is huge, how could he do something like that?
