8-Month-Old Boy Mauled to Death by Family Dog in New York 8-Month-Old Boy Mauled to Death by Family Dog in New York 1/4/08 Quote: NEW YORK — A Doberman pinscher mauled and killed his owners' 8-month-old boy on Thursday at their home in New York, police said. The boy, Andrew Stein, was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later, police said. No one had been charged in the boy's death as of Thursday evening. The dog was tranquilized and taken to an animal care center. Police said they were investigating and it was too early to determine what would happen to the dog. Neighbors said the dog was docile and friendly and would allow them to pet it.
