26 Horses Found Neglected on Florida Farm Get Second Chance

More than two dozen horses are getting a second chance after they were found starving and neglected at a Florida farm, MyFoxOrlando reported.

The 26 purebred Arabians were seized by sheriff's deputies last month after their owner, John Donahue, said he could not take care of them anymore.
But now, the horses are putting on weight and starting to interact with people, the station reported.
"The vet who is taking care of all of them is very pleased," one of the people nursing seven of the horses back to health told MyFoxOrlando. "He feels they're progressing. He feels very comfortable that they have a good chance."
The horses were divided up among several families while the courts decide who will ultimately own them, the station reported.
Donahue declined to be interviewed for the report, telling the station: "I have no comment. My attorney told me not to say anything. My side will all come out in due time."
He was supposed to have a hearing Friday to decide whether he could get back the horses but instead paid a $5,000 bond to help pay for the horses' care.
