Of course I said no and got him fixed. LOL!!! You can KIND of see him in my avatar pic...being 'mauled' by our pet rats. He's got VERY cool markings, I've never seen a dog quite like him. He even has the eye defects that alot of Aussie shepherds have.
OMG!! He looks alot like Bobbin!! And she gets mauled by our pet rats too!! As soon as I get this computer working right again... I will post a pic for you! Too bad you got him fixed... I'd love to breed her to him!

I had a feeling she would look something like our Roadie after you described her, I cannot wait to see her pics...Roadie is also part chihuahua, SUPPOSEDLY his momma was one. His ears do stick up like a Chi's...and he shivers like one(can drive you nuts too!)...but holyyyyy cow does he have the exact aussie markings & that terrier energy. Possibly some J Russell in him, don't know....but we just figure he's a mix of alot of different breeds.

That is SO funny that you also have rats. (sadly enough, one of our rats is going downhill really fast, she has a huge tumor and has begun walking wobbly and holding her head funny) AND 3 dogs....we also have 3 dogs! Cannot have cats though, we have too many cat allergies here.

Have any birds?

Sounds like yourrat had a stroke. Sometimes the tumors, if they are in the right (or wrong) place will do that.

These are pics of Bobbin... you can't really see the merling on her from these pics.. but she does have it.. and has the white spot in the middle of her eye..

Yeah, I'm thinking a stroke or that maybe she has a tumor in her brain too, or that the big one on her lower belly is pressing on major nerves or something. I feel SO bad for her, tonight she just NEEDED to stay by me when she was out...like she was afraid of being out of her cage on her own. I have been a bit worried that she could become aggressive and maybe bite, but so far she hasn't shown any aggression.

Your Bobbin is a cutie! She has the same white 'collar' that Roadie does. Roadie has a blue eye, but half of it is black...the other eye is black also...but if you really look at it it is the eye defect that aussie's have, I looked it up a long time ago but have forgotten the name of it. That combined with his merle coloring makes me think he definitely has aussie shepherd in his blood. I'm trying to get a pic off of my phone camera...if I can get it to work I'll post it.

Pet rats generally do not become aggressive, even when they have had a stroke.. Her "clinging" to you like she is is usually something that happens just before they pass on... I'm sorry. Ours do it too. They want to be with thier people as much as they can.... It's like they are trying to say goodbye, in their own way...

Bobbin is a darling... and is usuallly well behaved, but she's developed a minor issue recently with using the bedroom to potty.... I have started crating her at night, and hope to break this habit before it gets too well established.

I had a feeling...since our rats are so people-oriented, I figure she just wants 'comfort' in a way.

Now ok...this is just getting creepy. Roadie has recently been lifted HIS leg occasionally in my bedroom on my laundry basket...but when it's full of CLEAN laundry. Go figure!!!

If I crated him...O!MG!...he would SCREAM all night. He absolutely positively MUST be under the covers spooning me. We sleep with him and our 17 pound chihuahua every night...it can get quite...UNromantic!

Bobbin was crated for misdeeds when she was a pup, so it works very well...

Aren't rats some of the most people oriented pets you've met??? I know ours are!! Truth is, if rats could hunt mice and scare off intruders, I wouldn't even have the cats or dogs! LOL!

17 pound chihuahua????? Wow!! That's a big chi!!!!!

Charlie would never ever crate for us - sounded like he was dying. In his new home, though, he is crated and is happy as a clam - and sleeps with his teenager every night

Yes, I agree with that 100%! I absolutely ADORE these little critters...if people could just get past the "OMG! A RAT - YUK!" obsession...there would never ever be another mouse or gerbil purchased. Hamsters are ok...but do not even come close to a rat as a pet. These girls are just awesome! When I go to Petsmart, I always have them take whatever they have out of the cages so I can check them out. LOL!! Yesterday, they had a HUGE male there (prob already told you this)...if I didn't have females, that sweetheart would have come home with me for sure!
