Annoying dog..

I am getting so ANNOYED with this stupid dog! Someone tell me what to do!

Usually ShyAnne is so well behaved, but recently she is taking up some bad habits that I do not know what to do about them..

She pulls all the laundry off the line, and we have had to fence her off from the patio because of it... It works some of the time, but if one of the kids should leave the gate open... I have to rewash at least 2 loads of laundry!

We had to fence off the garden because she was digging in it... now she just goes UNDER the fence... She'll either knock the chicken wire off the posts and go thru, or she will shove it around and go under... or she will simply DIG under.

I could put a 12 INCH fence down and she would not go OVER it, but I feel like I have to put 6 FEET of fence UNDER the ground!

I am banging my head against the wall with this one... I feel like banging HER head against a wall, and I love this stupid dog!

She sounds bored. Do any of you have time to take her to obedience class or agility classes? It gives the dog things to do, learn routines, bond with you... etc., etc. A bored dog is a destructive dog. A half hour to an hour a day can work wonders, as can crating when done properly.

A dog with too much freedom almost always gets destructive... or starts to pee where he/she shouldn't... or some other annoying habit.

I had a German Shepherd that would eat night lite bulbs!

It was from me being gone way to much and him not getting enough personal time with me and exercise.

I hired my neighbor to take him for walks and spend time with him. This did work to a certain point. But it was me who he wanted to spend time with.

When I changed over to the office department, I could take him to work with me and he loved that.

He didn't eat anymore bulbs. And yes he had to go to the VET for xrays to see if his stomach was ok, which thankfully it was...sigh

You didn't mention what kind of dog you have. If it is a "hunting" breed, then Minpin's response sounds about right. You might need to "challenge" the dog by giving it something to do. Take it bike riding at a run to help channel the prey drive into constructive "energy-burning". When you cannot do this; Ronno's right. But NEVER use a crate as a punishment, but instead make it a "safe place" for your dog to go.

She's a mix breed RoadKill. She's wolf/shepard/chow/border collie.

We just bought her this stupid toy that keeps her thouroughly occupied for hours now, but I worry about it distressing the dog.. It's a ball with a voice recorder in it. We have tried it with every voice in this house, and she is only interested in one particular voice... Melva's! She will spend all day trying her best to get Melva out of that ball! It scatters treats as it rolls... She's not even interested in the treats when Melva's voice is in there... just just rolls that thing around and carries on howling and whining...

WOW, a hunting/working breed mix. I bet she would be in fact bored when she misbehaves.
