Pet joke

A reporter for the Chicago Tribune was walking through a city park when a rabid dog charged him and jumped toward his throat. He was about to be bitten when a ten-year-old boy threw a rock that hit the dog between the eyes and killed it. The reporter was so grateful that he decided to write a story about the youngster who had rescued him. “Are you a Cubs fan?” he asked the boy. The boy shook his head no. “Are you a White Sox fan?” Again the boy shook his head. “Since we’re in Chicago I just assumed you liked the Cubs or Sox,” said the reporter. “No,” said the boy, “I’m from New York and love the Yankees!” The next day, the boy read the reporter’s story in the paper about him. It was titled “Inconsiderate Punk from New York Murders Beloved Family Pet.”
