Cat Travels with Mandy

A month ago I go myself a new kitten. I already have 2 house cats & the youngest one's nose was somewhat bent when I first brought Mandy home...so I decided for a short time I would take her along!

Well here we are...I got my first real road trip...to Whitehorse, YT

There was so much to explore in the truck... I tried all different places...

On the passenger seat...little crowded, but I'm still small...

Then I discovered Mommy's phone...the "box" is the perfect size!

Then I discovered the dash on the passenger side of the truck...WOW...there's SOOOO much to see out the window!

The COLOURS are stunning this time of year...too bad it rained most of the way!

We stopped alongside the Yukon River, by Fireside on the way home...the view was stunning!

Hurry up Mommy...you're getting wet out there!

Time for bed!

Oh NOOOO... More road construction...BUT I got to charm to flag girl while we waited!

My absolute FAVORITE place of all...draped over Mommy's leg...good thing she was able to hold me...or I would have vibrated onto the floor many times!

And, well I'm just too damned cute for words

Too cute, Kat! She seems to be enjoying her life on the road. Are you going to keep her with you in the truck, or will she eventually join the others at home?

I haven't really decided...I have come to really enjoy her company, but winters are really brutal where I run, so it's very likely I will leave her at home for the winter to be sure, then we'll see what happens in the spring again. Trouble is that now when I get ready to leave she waits for me at the door...so now I feel GUILTY when I leave her behind!

Brutal does not look like a word she has in her vocabulary.

I can certainly understand the concern of winter though.

Cat

Not in hers...she's a, in my experience, a typical orange tabby, wonderful & sweet tempered.

I run in the Arctic, so winters ARE brutal...long, cold & dark. The country is SO isolated I'd always be worried about a breakdown or some such with her along!

I love this post. I am thinking of joining my bf on the road with our 2 cats!!!
I was wondering if you had any tips on traveling with cats, esp. regarding the litter box.
What size box is best for the truck and is there one brand of litter that covers odors better than the rest.
What about hot summers when you want to have the windows open. Are there window screens?
Are there any way to help ensure the kitty stays in the truck. I would die of guilt if they got loose!
