| Les while we're at it you're now responsible if your kids do anything wrong. I mean after all you had the time to train them in the way that was acceptable behavior. A dog and a child are the same they need guidance for what is acceptable, and they need both corrections and love. There is good and bad in any race of people or in any breed of animal, but not all should be punished for the faults of a few.

| While we're at it why dont we begin eliminating ANY breed of dog with any kind of history of attacks. Also, lets kill off all races of people known for violent crimes, that way we can all live in Nirvana -----oh wait no if we took the same method with people that some of you propose with Pits then you would see the human race could no longer exist under the new philosophy.

| Ya know actions speak louder than words, we all hear about the "bad" pitbulls.....I dont remember the last time I saw a headline that said old english sheep dog mauls 80 year old woman in the back pasture! There will never be a fix, pros and cons and more back and forth. The HUMANS who own these dogs need to be accountable, fined, taxed, insured, licensed and inspected among other things. The dogs cant be responsible for their owners.....its the other way around.

| How many years ago was it that certain races were always in the headlines for crimes, despite the fact that other races were guilty of the same ones? And as far as that goes how often do you see good news about Pits? You don't because the News isn't known for spreading good news when it can spread pessimism and terror.

| Good news isn't sensational. I had an email conversation with Jay Cronley, a sports writer regarding this issue during the Triple Crown series in thoroughbred racing last spring and summer regarding just that topic. If it's not sensational, the media has to make it sensational, and make a bigger deal out of it than it really is. Just take a look at the reporting of trucking accidents.

| Exactly my point. Pitbull makes wonderful pet and cheers up dozens at nursing home - ok nice but not newsworthy Pitbull mauls little girl - man thats great news, forget the fact that it may not even be a pitbull

You or anyone else want to own a pit, its your business. But like I said before, when you can't control it, you should be held responsible for it.

| I have heard the same stories of dogs turning come from "mixed", from dobermans, from chows, as well as other breeds.

those are 2 breeds i trust less than a pit. i think a few reasons pit's are on the news so much are: 1 very popular, so LOTS of people own them (i would guess to say more than dob's or chows) 2 they are VERY powerful dogs who can do GREAT damage with LITTLE effort 3 due to them being raised for fighting (some) it may be in the "genes" of some?? 4 due to the above they recieve more than their fair share of infamy

| I remember when Rotts were the bad dogs...LOL As for "mixed" breeds, that just seems to be the excuse alot of Pit owners use to try and defend their dogs. In some if not most cases they are probably right, but why is it drug dealers and people alike get full blooded Pits? Cause they are a vicious dog. Got a question for everyone. Does anyone know what drug dealers and gangs do to their dogs, other than make them mean?
