Anyone for a PETA sammich?

I bought two kittens from Petland a couple years ago and both of them had to be put down within 6 months. They had FIV. It wasn't confirmed that they were born with the virus and Petland wouldn't do anything about it. The Vets had a pretty good idea that the kittens most likely had the virus while at Petland.

Never again will I buy a pet from a pet store. I will only go to a well known breeder or the humane society.

It has been said many many times all over the "net" and on some TV programs that petstores that sell puppies and kittens generally get them from puppy/kitten mills. A responsible breeder would NEVER sell one of their "furbabies" to a pet store, pet broker etc.

My take on petland.We have two Great Dane and One Boxer (truck dog) lol.So Mojo are yr old Dane needed a train Collar,I was sick of flying across the front yard because this beast wanted to lol.So we go in there and just happen to go by the puppy area.Me being the big mouth i am,see this Great Dane,Opps forgot one part,I plan in the near future to breed Dane,So ive study for hrs and hrs learning the breed,Plus the fact we own two of them,So i walk past this Dane,And i see its tan on the back side and blue in the face,telling sign this puppy has been breed wrong,So i say to the dumb guy standing there what color is that Dane he says to me, Fawn and merle.I say to him do you know that is wrong to breed those two color that Made you will come out without odd dog that sell great but do you guys think of the genic defect you just caused the dog.He looks at me and turns and walks away. I go find my dh bring him back over and show him the dog,well he gets to looking for the boxer puppy,well sure enough its in the wrong cage we look at this 10 week old puppy that is the same size as are boxer that we have that is two yrs old.So i cant let it go,This is something that could effect the breed,As im leaving the store i ask the cashier do you have a number i can call,Im really upset with the fact you all have a Great Dane back there that been breed wrong she hands me card but not with asking,Why i felt this way,I told her my reason and then told her not to just take my word but to go on the akc website and see the color chart it will show that what they did could not only effect the puppy but the breed,Then i asked her will that puppy be fixed and she said its up to the new owners,I said well dont you think it right of you all to tell the new owners,That this puppy has been breed wrong and that it shouldnt be breed every,Blank look and then said huh ill have to go on the website to check that out,I would never ever ever ever sell a puppy to pet shop let alone buy one from there nor would i tell anyone to buy one from there.i really hope they put them out of business.This puppy mill everyone talks about isnt far from me.If i had a whole day id go picket the place just so everyone knew what kind company they was running

about 2 years ago, we bought a pug at a petland store in missouri... she was about 8 weeks old? she has been on the truck with us ever since. She hasn't had any health problems except for getting an infection in her uterus? and so we had to get her fixed. but she has been fine since then and is actually pretty lean for a pug.. she is not a fat one...
